Anna Kendrick Shares Hilarious Video After Having To Be Rescued From Stuck Elevator At Film Festival

Getting stuck in an elevator is probably high on the list of many people's worst nightmares.

Particularly those suffering from claustrophobia.

But Academy Award nominee Anna Kendrick seemed to take it in stride when she and several others recently found themselves trapped in an elevator in Toronto.

The Pitch Perfect star shared her experience of being trapped, then rescued, from an elevator in a lighthearted video to her Instagram page.

Kendrick was in Toronto for the premiere of her upcoming drama Alice, Darling.

But she and her team hit a speed bump on the way to the premiere when their elevator abruptly stopped.

A situation in which many others would easily resort to panicking, Kendrick seemed to instantly find the humor, even giving her video a light-hearted, tongue in cheek caption:

"Ah, the classic 'I’m behind schedule at this film festival because I had to be rescued from an elevator' excuse."

At the beginning of the video, Kendrick jokingly announced how she wished she had packed her purse more practically, addressing how she and her fellow prisoners had no idea how long they were going to be trapped, while suggesting the possibility of "nature calling" at any moment.

"This is why I shouldn’t leave the house without at least a little airplane-sized bottle because you never know when you’re going to get stuck in an elevator."

As the minutes continued to pass, Kendrick still didn't seem to lose her comic optimism, first joking that she and the elevator's other passengers needed to "ration the limited food supply," while also taking some glamour selfies of herself "vibing" in the elevator.

Eventually, the members of Toronto Fire Station 331 arrived to rescue Kendrick and the others, and their voices could be heard instructing them to "open the hatch" on the elevator ceiling, as the car happened to get stuck in between floors.

As other passengers joked about how they should have taken the stairs, or blamed the situation on eating too much food the previous evening, a ladder descended from the ceiling to help everyone finally escape.

Not everyone was thrilled with the idea of climbing out through the ceiling, as one passenger could be heard uttering "are you f**king kidding me?"

When it came time for Kendrick to finally make her escape, the Into The Woods star expressed relief that she chose to wear a long skirt that day.

"It's a good thing I'm not wearing a short skirt today."
"The good lord said to me, choose the long skirt, Anna."

Kendrick also made it clear in an overlay that a man's hand touching her backside in a slightly suggestive manner belonged to her hairdresser, Craig, who was offering support and nothing else.

The video then cut to Kendrick being freed from the elevator shaft with the help of Station 331, with Kendrick declaring she was "in love with every single one" of the firefighters who came to her rescue.

After some footage of the remaining passengers making their way to freedom, still photos appeared of Kendrick happily posing with the heroic members of Station 33, followed by a selfie Kendrick took with her comrades while still stuck in the elevator.

Viewers of the video, which included actress Brittany Snow, Actor/Director Paul Feig, and Kendrick's Pitch Perfect co-star Anna Camp, couldn't believe how calm and upbeat Kendrick remained through the whole ordeal, with many expressing they likely would not have remained nearly as composed.

Family members of some of the firefighters on duty also took to the comments section to cheer them on for a job well done.

Matthew Pegg, the Fire Chief for the City of Toronto, also took to Twitter to commend the work of station 331 and to thank Kendrick for sharing the video.

While it remains unclear just how long Kendrick and company were stuck in the elevator, Kendrick made it to the premiere of Alice, Darling with time to spare to walk the red carpet and greet her fans.

MAGA Influencer Dragged After Claiming That Only 'Single Gay Males' Live In Cities

Will Chamberlain, a MAGA minion who works for a Republican-aligned legal group, claimed suburban living is where all the good families live, rather than cities.

While that notion has been around since redlining and "White flight," Chamberlain's "those people" aren't BIPOC. No, Chamberlain's claim revolved around something else that seems to often makes conservatives squirm—or, at least, closeted conservatives. He claimed cities are full of...gay men.

Tucker Carlson Turns Heads After Claiming Members Of Congress Are Having All Kinds Of 'Orgies'

Far-right provocateur Tucker Carlson weirded people out after he, in conversation with Tennessee Republican Representative Tim Burchett, alleged that members of Congress engage in group sex far more often than most Americans would imagine.

Speaking on the October 10 episode of his eponymous podcast, Carlson said he thinks “people’s personal lives are getting weirder in Congress.” In fact, he said that "some people that members of Congress are sleeping with, either legally or not, are employed by forces that want to control members of Congress."
