The Abbott Elementary star sparked a debate on social media after revealing she and her husband of 20 years, Pennsylvania State Senator Vincent Hughes, have never lived together.

Each marriage is its own unique entity, a world built by those who enter into it.

However, Abbott Elementary star Sheryl Lee Ralph and Pennsylvania State Senator Vincent Hughes have a marriage whose nature has people talking.

Ralph recently revealed to People that over the course of their 20 year marriage, she and Hughes have never cohabitated.

"Every two weeks we saw each other, and it has continued to work out well. When I go to see him, I love to see him. When it’s time to leave, ‘Bye-bye. See you soon.’ I’m telling you, life is good.”

While admitting that this arrangement would have been significantly more difficult if the two had children together, she attributed the success of their marriage to following their own strengths and meeting together, not living together.

“He has his own life. I have my own life. He has his own real career, I have my own real career. He has his light to stand in, I have my light to stand in. He is not looking at me thinking about status or this or that. He's doing his thing. I get to do my thing."

Ralph was previously married to French businessman Eric Maurice from 1990-2001 and has two grown children from that marriage.

Many people liked the set up that the couple had.

However, others did point out that this non-traditional model, as Ralph nodded to in her discussion of the marriage, would have some major logistical hurdles were there kids in the equation.

Some commenters were vocally critical of the couple’s marriage.

Many folks were tentatively in favor, or at least could see the upsides.

And finally, there were many who really would find a marriage like that to be perfect.

Clearly their method of working on their own careers is working, as Abbott Elementary continued its award-winning streak into 2025.

Gavin Newsom Hilariously Dunks On Trump For Hosting The Kennedy Center Honors

California Governor Gavin Newsom trolled President Donald Trump by sharing an AI-generated photo of himself accepting the inaugural—and not real—"Kennedy Center peace prize" from Trump.

The photo accompanied a post in which Newsom mocked not just Trump but also Ric Grenell, the Kennedy Center's president, whom Newsom referred to as a "janitor" in a post that—like many of Newsom's past posts—is written in a style not unlike the rants Trump publishes on Truth Social.
