Naya Rivera's accidental drowning death in the middle of 2020 was a traumatizing bit of a sad and difficult year. After making sure her son was safely above water, Rivera drowned when she was unable to get herself back into the boat.

Glee creators responded to Naya's death with widespread grief and devastation. Creators Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuck and Ian Brennan said they would be "creating a college fund" for Naya's son, Josey Dorsey—who was present on that fateful day.

But Naya's dad says they haven't followed through.

George Rivera, Naya's father, responded to a tweet claiming the creators would be setting up the college fund for Josey Dorsey—whose father is Naya Rivera's ex-husband actor Ryan Dorsey. Rivera's father said in no uncertain words Murphy never began the first step of this promise.

He went on to say Murphy had never dropped him so much as a phone call.

Murphy responded with his own Tweet.

Murphy tweeted:

"Myself, Brad Falchuk, and Ian Brennan have committed to create a college fund for Naya Rivera's child Josey through the Naya Rivera Estate Trust."
"We have been in repeated conversations with the appropriate executors of her estate."

Ryan Dorsey had shared custody with his ex-wife. After her death, full custody of Josey went to his father, not his grandfather George Rivera.

But not everybody is buying Murphy's story.

The Rivera family has not made any further statements on Ryan Murphy at this time, but asked Twitter to leave him alone and to only donate to causes for Naya endorsed by the Rivera family.

For a family that has been through so much grief, we sincerely hope some new joy and understanding can arise from this situation.

Former GOP Senator Gets Brutal Wakeup Call After Criticizing People For Playing 'Candy Crush' Instead Of 'Making Babies'

Ben Sasse represented Nebraska in the United States Senate from 2015 to 2023. As a Midwestern moderate, the sometimes controversial Sasse was often critical of MAGA Republican President Donald Trump on social media and on the Senate floor.

At one point, the Nebraska GOP censured him because of his criticism of Trump. But Sasse, like Maine Republican Senator Susan Collins, would still vote with the majority of his party when his vote was needed to back Trump's agenda.
