READ: RNC's Joyce Simmons Resigns Over GOP Support for Moore

Joyce Simmons, a Nebraska Republican National Committeewoman, announced her resignation on Monday in protest of the RNC's financial support of Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore.

In an email to her fellow RNC colleagues, Simmons says she tendered her resignation on Friday, writing: "I strongly disagree with the recent RCN financial support directed to the Alabama Republican Party for use in the Roy Moore race. There is much I could say about this situation, but I will defer to this weekend's comments by Senator Shelby."

She finishes, saying: "I will miss so many of you that I knew well; and wish I could have continued my service to the national Republican Party that I used to know well."

Associated Press White House Reporter Zeke Miller shared the email on Twitter:

On Sunday, Richard Shelby, the senior senator for Alabama, told CNN's Jake Tapper: "I didn't vote for Roy Moore, I wouldn't vote for Roy Moore, I think the Republican Party can do better."

That doesn't mean that Shelby went so far as to vote for Moore's Democratic challenger, Doug Jones. He claims he wrote in a candidate instead.

Moore has been accused of sexual misconduct with underage girls, including a girl who was 14-year-old when was in his 30s. After the allegations surfaced in November, the RNC withdrew its support, but then decided to give his campaign $170,000 after President Trump's endorsement.

Not everyone has been happy with the RNC's decision, including RNC chair Ronna McDaniel. But McDaniel claims that there isn't much she could do, considering that the RNC is basically an extension of Trump.

So it's good to see that at least someone at the RNC developed a conscience.

And while not everyone was happy about it:

There was still plenty of praise for Simmons over her decision:

Perhaps her sentiments will resonate with other members of her party:

Here's hoping it starts a trend:

Nancy Sinatra Shuts Down MAGA Fan Who Claimed Her Famous Dad Would've Voted For Trump

It's no secret that MAGA Republican President Donald Trump hasn't been able to attract the cream of the crop when it comes to the entertainment industry. While Kid Rock, Kevin Sorbo and Scott Baio are Trump ride or dies, pretty much every other Hollywood or music legend or rising star is taking a pass on Trump.

And some outright despise the man and let everyone know. Often.

And MAGA is not happy about it.
