Netflix's hit comedy-drama Orange Is the New Black has just wrapped filming on its 7th and final season, and the cast and crew are understandably emotional. Many have shared photos to Instagram and Twitter of their last days on set, and the memories are making everyone emotional.

Orange Is the New Black has been a landmark series in its representation of LGBT+ women as multi-dimensional people with differing motivations and goals. It is also quite different than other prison-related dramas because it focuses on the inmates as individuals, and on their complex relationships with each other.

The series is based on the memoir of Piper Kerman, Orange Is the New Black: My Year in a Women's Prison, in which she talks about her time in the minimum-security prison FCI Danbury. It is one of Netflix's top 10 most-watched original series.

Much of the cast and crew have been working together for the past 6 years, so they've had lots of time to form friendships and attachments.

Letting go of their characters and the experience is bringing up lots of feelings, so many took to social media to reminisce and share the experience of the last few days of filming with fans.

Lea DeLaria shared some of her favorite moments from the show, as well as final selfies with her castmates.

Lori Petty thanked fans for their love, and expressed hers in return.

Elizabeth Rodriguez shared photos of a visit from Lea DeLaria.

Jenji Kohan also shared a photo of some of the amazing writers that made the show a reality.

Dale Soules shared a photo of herself and author Piper Kerman.

Along with the a group photo of everyone on set.

There were cupcakes to ease the sadness of the final day of filming.

Everyone says goodbye.

Natasha Lyonne shared a photo of Kohan celebrating in the snow near the end of filming.

Partings are always difficult, but the cast and crew of Orange Is the New Black can rest assured in the knowledge that in their years of work they have created an amazingly diverse and entertaining series!

The tragedy has not only shaken the community but also reignited the national debate over guns in America—this time sparked by an unlikely voice.

Former Republican congressman and Fox News host of Sunday Night in America, Trey Gowdy—long seen as a staunch defender of gun rights and a past recipient of National Rifle Association contributions—surprised many of his own allies when he called for a national reckoning on firearms access.
