Mike Huckabee Tried to Go After Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez on Twitter, She Made Him Regret It Almost Immediately

Ouch.

Former Governor Mike Huckabee (R-AR) went after Congresswoman-elect Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) on Twitter Sunday, poking fun at Ocasio-Cortez for comparing her election victory to the 1969 Moon landing.

"We've done what we thought was impossible," Ocasio-Cortez said at an event hosted by the Sunshine Movement on Friday. “We went to the moon. We electrified the nation. We established civil rights. We enfranchised the country. We dig deep, and we did it. We did it when no one else thought that we could. That's what we did when so many of us won an election this year.”

Ocasio-Cortez's agenda champions a "Green New Deal" to protect the environment and create sustainable jobs in renewable energy.

Huckabee, a conservative commentator & denier of climate science, does not buy it.

"Ocasio-Cortez compares her election to Moon landing. Huh? Big difference," wrote Huckabee. "Moon landing was LUNAR, not LOONEY; Moon landing done by ppl who knew what they were doing...those who elected someone who thought there were 3 branches of Congress did NOT."

Ocasio-Cortez fired back at Huckabee Sunday evening. Ocasio-Cortez defended the Green New Deal while launching pointed jabs of her own at Huckabee and his daughter, White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders.

"A Green New Deal will take a level of ambition + innovation on the scale of the moon landing," the Congresswoman tweeted. "We’ve been done it before, and can do it again. Leave the false statements to Sarah Huckabee. She’s much better at it. Also, you haven’t been a Governor of any state for 10+ years now.

Ocasio-Cortez's dig at Huckabee for being a political has-been was spot on.

Over on Huckabee's Twitter feed, things did not go much better for the former minister.

People are tired of being lied to by the likes of Huckabee and Sanders.

This is what the GOP has become.

Ocasio-Cortez also blasted other conservatives who have chosen her as a target for political attacks.

Twitter urged Ocasio-Cortez to never back down because it is clear how scared Republicans are of her.

The fight is only beginning.
