A sarcastic Meghan McCain congratulated Arizona on going "full blown MAGA" after Trump acolyte and conspiracy theorist Kari Lake took the lead in the state's Republican gubernatorial primary.

McCain—daughter of late Arizona Republican Senator John McCain—said Arizona made "the transition to full blown MAGA/conspiracy theory/fraudster," adding voters should be "careful what you wish for."

You can see what she wrote on Twitter below.

Lake, who previously worked as a journalist before launching her career in politics, currently holds a slim lead over Karrin Taylor Robson, who was endorsed by former Vice President Mike Pence as well as Doug Ducey, who is currently the state's governor.

If Lake prevails in the Republican primary, she will be facing Arizona Secretary of State Katie Hobbs in November's gubernatorial election. Lake has called for imprisoning Hobbs, whom she has falsely accused of election fraud in relation to the 2020 presidential election.

McCain was swiftly attacked by Republicans who've openly backed Lake.

They mocked her using the hashtag #MeghanMcCainMeltdown.

But many others echoed McCain's concerns amid the very real possibility Lake will become the Republican Party's gubernatorial nominee.

A longtime right wing commentator, McCain has a temperamental relationship with her own party given former Republican President Donald Trump's continued attacks against her late father, who infamously mocked the late Senator McCain for being a prisoner-of-war.

Her book, Bad Republican, tells a personal story "of growing up the daughter of an American icon who shaped her life and details the heartbreaking final moments spent by his side," according to its Amazon listing.

Lake, meanwhile, has described herself as a "Trump candidate," aligning herself with him and his lies to further her own candidacy. She has long backed the insurrectionists who attacked the United States Capitol on January 6, 2021 on the false premise the election had been stolen.

Lake has attracted support from right-wing extremists, appearing with a Nazi sympathizer and QAnon-linked activists at campaign events.

Canadian PM Candidate Proposes Retaliatory Tariffs Targeted At Elon Musk—And People Are So Here For It

Chrystia Freeland, who resigned last month as Justin Trudeau’s deputy and finance minister and is running to be the next leader of the Liberal Party and prime minister of Canada, proposed "targeted" retaliatory tariffs against the U.S. that would target President Donald Trump's allies, including billionaire Elon Musk.

Freeland has pledged precise and targeted retaliation against the 25 percent tariff Trump has imposed on all steel imports. She warned that if necessary, the country would “inflict the biggest trade blow that the United States has ever endured.” These tariffs would in part target automotive company Tesla—a jab at Musk, who is its CEO.
