Macaulay Culkin is the latest to join the long list of notable actors to star in American Horror Story over the years.

Due to the pandemic, it'll be some time before "AHS" Season 10 is filmed and released.

For now, the story behind Culkin's decision to join the cast is entertaining enough.

American Horror Story producer Ryan Murphy recently sat down with E! News to drop some hints about the show's upcoming season, which will air on Netflix.

Murphy assured that in addition to including 71-year-old Oscar winner Kathy Bates—who's appeared in every season since the show's third aired in 2013—American Horror Story Season 10 will include a new, though very recognizable face: Home Alone star Macaulay Culkin.

Murphy spilled the finer details about his efforts to convince Culkin to join the cast:

"I said, 'OK, here's the pitch.' And I told them the character and I told him he has crazy, erotic sex with Kathy Bates and does other things."
"And he paused and he goes, 'This sounds like the role I was born to play.' So, he signed up right then and there."

One wonders what these "other things" will include.

Twitter took the news in the same way it always handles surprising pop culture news—with a variety of hot takes, all of which escalate the situation.

And even if some of those Twitter responses feature sharp criticism and deem the decision a poor one, Murphy was far from hasty with the choice to include Culkin in the upcoming season.

Murphy went on to share his attraction to Culkin's acting with E! News:

"I have always loved Macaulay Culkin's work. I loved everything that he's done. I love the stuff he did in 'Home Alone.' I also loved the sort of the older, more recent stuff that he did. And he hasn't worked in a while."
"I'm excited for him to be in my world because I think … I'm gonna want to do a lot of things with him if he wants to work, because I think he's fascinating and interesting, and I think he has a soul."
"There's both a lightness and a darkness with Macaulay Culkin that I'm attracted to."

But alas, we will be forced to wait an undetermined amount of time to see Culkin and Bates share the screen. Murphy explained to The Wrap that the pandemic has put a halt to the show's production.

But the producer was quick to explain that conditions look bright for a solid final product after all is said and done.

"Everybody is kind of on pause. I honestly don't know. But it's a great season and I know all the actors are chomping at the bit to get into it, so that's all I know."

Trump Accidentally Roasts Himself With Ironic Question About 'Stupid People'

President Donald Trump was widely mocked after he attempted to defend his disastrous tariff strategy to reporters in the Oval Office on Wednesday and issued a rhetorical question about "stupid people" that said more about him than anyone else.

Trump would later declare a full 90-day suspension of all the “reciprocal” tariffs that took effect at midnight April 10—except for those on China—in a dramatic about-face from a president who had long championed his historically high tariff rates as permanent.

Vice President J.D. Vance and the wider Trump administration are facing criticism now that Colonel Susan Meyers was removed from her post as commander at Greenland's Pituffik Space Base after breaking with Vance in an email she wrote following his controversial visit to the island territory.

Greenland is an autonomous territory of the Kingdom of Denmark, alongside the Faroe Islands, the only other autonomous territory within the Kingdom. Citizens of both Greenland and the Faroe Islands are full citizens of Denmark. As one of the Overseas Countries and Territories of the European Union, Greenland’s citizens are also recognized as EU citizens.
