The LGBTQ fans of actress Katharine McPhee were disappointed to learn she's not their ally.

The star who once won TV audiences over in the high-camp musical dramedy, Smash, is a staunch Republican. McPhee also donated to anti-LGBTQ causes.

Jezebel reported the former American Idolstar made two separate donations of $250 last week to the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC). NRSC is an anti-LGBTQ committee dedicated to electing Republican Senators to maintain the GOP majority in the Senate.

Further Internet sleuthing confirmed a self-employed singer from Los Angeles named "Katharaine McPhee" made donations to anti-gay Republican causes long before the current election.

Screenshots from the Federal Election Commission (FEC) database were provided as proof.

While it is her prerogative to donate to whichever homophobic organization that threatens equal rights she chooses, many are calling McPhee out for her hypocrisy after positioning herself as an LGBTQ ally. In 2018, McPhee penned a Billboard article titled "Love Letter to the LGBTQ Community" as part of Pride month recognition.

A 2018 Twitter clip serves as an example of the actress appealing to her "gay boys," engaging in queer lingo and doing shout-outs and retweets of LGBTQ Twitter pages to further her career.

Former fans are furious over the bombshell deception on social media.

The irony of her character's name from Smash was not lost on this former fan.

Many of McPhee's largely queer fanbase are questioning why she even bothered to do charity events such as the Gay Men's Health Crisis,

Queerty noted the actress' daily Twitter activity screeched to a halt after news broke about her funding organizations trying to dismantle progresses made by the LGBTQ community.

Trump Adviser's Chess Analogy After Trump's Meeting With Canadian Prime Minister Is Epic Self-Own

People In Long-Term Relationships Explain What Love Feels Like To Them Now

While some people wax nostalgic about the "good old days" when everyone stayed married, the reality is that there were almost no options for divorced women. There were very few for widows either.
