Chelsea Handler Says She Bought RFK Jr And Cheryl Hines' $6 Million House—And It Was Completely 'Unlivable'

On a recent episode of her Dear Chelsea podcast, and then later on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Chelsea Handler revealed that she bought a house in 2021 without knowing it was HHS Secretary RFK Jr. and Cheryl Hines'—and that the home was in such bad condition that she was only just able to move in.

Comedian Chelsea Handler revealed that she purchased an "unlivable" home several years ago without knowing it was put on the market by Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and his wife, actor Cheryl Hines.

Handler said she bought a Los Angeles home from Kennedy and Hines for $5.9 million in 2021, while the couple—married since 2014—purchased another property on the same street for $6.6 million.

Speaking on her Dear Chelsea podcast, Handler explained that the purchase was made through a trust, keeping the sale largely private. She said she didn’t realize how poor the home’s condition was until after an inspection, adding that the issues have been severe enough to prevent her from living in it.

She said:

“I bought his house from him and Cheryl Hines. I still have not lived in this house. That's how f**ked up this house was. The idea that this guy is in charge of the health of our country when he didn't even have a proper foundation at his house?"
"When they opened up the house, they were like, 'This house is the most toxic environment. You cannot live here for at least two years.' I'm not exaggerating any of this. It was a disaster and I didn't know it going in because everything was under wraps."

Handler said that even after repairing the damage, a subsequent inspection revealed an “illegal” outdoor storage unit installed by Hines and Kennedy that would also need to be removed:

"There's a unit he has—a little outdoor storage unit—that's been there since I bought the property. And they're like, 'This is illegal.' I'm like, 'Oh my God.' So now we have to remove his illegal bulls**t from my property and I'm like, 'How did they not find this upon the first inspection?'"

She added that Hines had “the audacity” to leave her a note, underscoring the lingering frustrations surrounding the property:

"Cheryl Hines left me notes saying, 'Let us know if there's anything we can do for you, Chelsea.' I'm like, ‘Yeah, how about a f**king foundation? That's something you could do for me.'"
"Anyway. I'm not angry about it or anything. I'm totally over it."

Handler also spoke about her real estate troubles during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!:

"I didn't know I was buying it from RFK Jr. because it was a blind trust and the house feels like I bought it from RFK Jr. It took me four years just to move in. There was a lot of problems with the house—I blame him—that didn't get caught during the inspection and a lot of drama with the house."
"I just moved in for the first time yesterday and I'm good. I have chlamydia, herpes and—what else does he have?—measles. ... It's okay now but I would advise anybody to never buy a house from... actually, I need to stay away from the Kennedys in general." ...
"They sent me a note after I moved in. Cheryl Hines sent me a note saying, 'Thank you, we're so excited you bought our house, let us know if there's anything we could do.' And I was like, 'Oh no! I bought [RFK Jr.'s house]. That's like the one person in the world whose house I would flag not to buy."

MAGA Senator Slammed After Scolding Americans For Whining About High Gas Prices Amid Iran War—And Wow

Kansas Republican Senator Roger Marshall chastised Americans for complaining about high gas prices and insisted they should consider that their "national security is even more important" than whatever blows are being dealt to their wallets at the gas pump.

Consumer prices are up 3.3% compared to a year ago, largely fueled by a surge in energy costs. The energy index jumped 10.9% in a single month as oil and gas prices climbed sharply. Amid the Iran war and the U.S. blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, oil has risen back to around $100 a barrel, pushing gasoline prices up by a record 25%.

A lot is going on in our world right now that gives us pause, and some of us might feel our hearts breaking under the weight of all of it. That makes acts of kindness, no matter how small they are, more important than ever before.

X user @oatmilkanie shouted out an unidentified child who clearly got the memo when they boarded a plane and discovered that the child had written a note for the next person to sit in their seat, directly on the paper nausea bag that's snuggled in the seat pocket in front of the passenger's knees.

Woman Creeped All The Way Out After Finding Hidden Door In The Ceiling Of Her Airbnb

A lot of us already cannot sleep well when we're visiting someone else's home or staying in a hotel, because we're uncomfortable in a different bed and maybe even a little creeped out in the unusual space.
