QAnon Rep Says 'Satan's Controlling The Church' By Aiding Immigrants In Bonkers Interview

@RightWingWatch/Twitter

Georgia Republican Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene spoke with far-right Catholic activist Michael Voris of Church Militant for his website.

The controversial Congresswoman told Voris Christian organizations working to resettle immigrants and refugees in the United States are under the control of Satan.

You can see the interview here:

Voris initially complained about Catholic Relief Services and other Christian organizations receiving federal funds to assist in resettlement efforts.

Greene—a secular government official—responded without an ounce of self awareness:

"I thought we had a separation of church and state."

Greene continued:

"What it is, is Satan’s controlling the church."
“The church is not doing its job, and it’s not adhering to the teachings of Christ, and it’s not adhering to what the word of God says we’re supposed to do and how we’re supposed to live."

She added:

"We are supposed to love one another, but their definition of what love one another means, means destroying our laws."
“It means completely perverting what our Constitution says. It means taking unreal advantage of the American taxpayer."
"And it means pushing a globalist policy on the American people and forcing America to become something that we are not supposed to be."

Greene then proposed her own solution to refugee allies from war torn countries like Afghanistan and Ukraine.

The United States vowed to help with resettlement for these groups which is the reason for the federal funds Voris lamented.

The GOP Representative declared:

"We should hold those countries accountable."
"'Oh, I’m sorry, Guatemala, you’re not getting a check this year because you’ve sent X number of thousands and tens of thousands and hundreds of thousands and millions of people to illegally invade our country as if they’re an army. They may not have guns, but they’re the numbers of a regiment of an army. We won’t be able to send you your foreign aid until you bring your people back'."

The self-proclaimed devout Christian concluded:

"The bishops of Catholic relief charities and services, they should be all in support of that."
"If the bishops were reading the Bible and truly preaching the word of God to their flock and not covering up child sex abuse and pedophilia, loving one another would have the true meaning and not the perversion and the twisted lie that they’re making it to be."

Greene didn't specify if she was referring to the Catholic Bible or the version most Evangelical Christians use—a version created by and for English King James I in 1611. Many of the more extreme views expressed by Christians like Greene do not appear in the Catholic Bible.

After her commentary was shared by far-right watchdog Right Wing Watch, Greene faced considerable backlash for her latest hot take.

Some cited portions of the Bible Greene missed.

Others brought up the separation of church and state Greene touted at the beginning of her rant.

As of January 31, more than 68,000 Afghanistan refugees relocated to the United States through Operation Allies Welcome were resettled with the assistance of charitable organizations.

Congress approved funding for the Office of Refugee Resettlement in the Administration for Children and families earmarked to help Afghan allies evacuated to the United States after the military withdrew from the region.

Additional funds were approved for Ukraine refugees. Nine national resettlement agencies and their affiliates are providing assistance.

Republicans were profoundly critical, even dismissive, of Obama's Let's Move! campaign, a public health initiative created to reduce childhood obesity and encourage a healthy lifestyle in children. She was even accused of being a "communist" supporting a "nanny state."
