GOP Rep. Tried To Trash The 'Big Beautiful Bill' On X—And Got Called Out Hard By A Community Note
Jun 09, 2025
Pennsylvania MAGA GOP Representative Scott Perry is joining the queue of rats jumping off the sinking ship of MAGA Republican President Donald Trump's One Big Beautiful Bill.
However, unlike Georgia and Nebraska MAGA Representatives Marjorie Taylor Greene and Mike Flood, who both claimed they had no idea what was in the tax and spending cuts bill when they voted for it, Perry just trashed the bill as bad legislation.
On X, Perry reposted tech investor and former Trump administration member Elon Musk's condemnation of the One Big Beautiful Bill, while omitting a key detail.
But the folks on X were quick to provide some facts to Perry's X repost, wherein he wrote:
"So [Elon Musk] is right to call out House Leadership. I wish I had a nickel for every time the [Freedom Caucus] sounded the alarm and nobody listened, only to find out the hard way we were right all along."
"We expect MASSIVE improvements from the Senate before it gets back to the House."

But X users quickly added context, via a community note, sharing:
"Rep. Scott Perry voted Yes for the bill."
As with all community notes, X users brought receipts, adding a link to GOVTRACK.US , which pulls data from the website of the Clerk of the House of Representatives for official voting records.
There, in no uncertain terms, is the record of Perry voting in favor of the bill he's complaining about.
clerk.house.gov
In the early morning hours of May 22, after an all night session of the GOP controlled House, 214 Representatives voted Nay—consisting of all 212 Democrats currently in the House plus two Republicans, 215 Republicans—including Perry—voted Yea, one Republican voted present, and two Republicans skipped the vote completely.
At the time of the vote, three seats formerly held by Democrats were vacant in the House, due to the deaths of those members of Congress in March and May.
With the One Big Beautiful Bill passing by just one vote, Perry personally had the power to stop its passage, but chose not to.
And people on X weren't going to let him forget it.

Perry referenced and tagged the Freedom Caucus in his misleading post that criticized the bill he voted for.
Considered the most conservative, most right-wing bloc in the House, the Freedom Caucus doesn’t publicly disclose the names of its members—although most trade on their involvement with the group—and membership is by invitation only.
The Freedom Caucus is a voting bloc, meaning any action supported by 80% of the members locks in the votes for all of the members. Created in 2015 to support fiscal conservatism, members came to include the most loyal MAGA minions, like its first chairman, controversial Ohio MAGA Representative Jim Jordan.
Other founding members were Florida Republican Governor Ron DeSantis and Trump's first presidential administration picks Mick Mulvaney and Mark Meadows.
A faction of Trump loyalists completely took over the Freedom Caucus in 2021—becoming known as the "MAGA Squad"—which included Perry, Arizona's Paul Gosar and Andy Biggs, Georgia's Marjorie Taylor Greene, Florida's Matt Gaetz, North Carolina's Madison Cawthorn, Texas' Louie Gohmert, Alabama's Mo Brooks, and Colorado's Lauren Boebert.
After her falling out with Boebert, the caucus voted to expel Greene.
Perry's Yea vote implies the entire Freedom Cause voted to support Trump's One Big Beautiful Bill—making his post claiming the group "sounded the alarm" even more hypocritical.

Vance Just Called The LA Protesters 'Insurrectionists'—And Was Swiftly Called Out For His Hypocrisy
Jun 09, 2025
After President Donald Trump deployed the National Guard to Los Angeles amid protests against immigration raids, Vice President JD Vance was called out for hypocrisy after calling protesters "insurrectionists."
California National Guard troops arrived in Los Angeles on Sunday morning, just hours after Trump signed an order deploying 2,000 service members in response to escalating immigration protests in the city. The order came after multiple confrontations between demonstrators and federal agents carrying out immigration enforcement operations—clashes that have resulted in over 100 arrests.
Protesters have condemned Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents for raiding multiple locations since Friday, with crowds trying to stop agents from driving away after arresting people at a clothing warehouse. Another protest began after demonstrators discovered detainees were allegedly being held in the basement of a federal building. Other raids in the cities of Compton and Paramount sparked demonstrations.
Vance, with no sense of irony, responded to these events by writing the following in a post on X:
"Insurrectionists carrying foreign flags are attacking immigration enforcement officers, while one half of America's political leadership has decided that border enforcement is evil. Time to pass President Trump's beautiful bill and further secure the border."
You can see his post below.
Vance's words show he and the larger Trump administration are once again trying to rewrite the script surrounding the Capitol riot of January 6, 2021—the day a mob of Trump's supporters attacked the U.S. Capitol on the false premise that the 2020 election had been stolen.
The attack left at least five people dead and resulted in over 100 injuries to law enforcement as well as millions of dollars in damages after insurrectionists stormed the Capitol building in an attempt to stop the certification of then-President-elect Joe Biden's decisive electoral victory.
Upon taking office in January of this year, Trump granted clemency to all 1,500+ individuals charged in the insurrection, upending what had been the largest prosecution in Justice Department history, freeing individuals captured on camera brutally assaulting police officers as well as leaders of far-right extremist groups convicted of plotting violent efforts—including hanging Vice President Mike Pence—to halt the peaceful transfer of power.
Despite the overwhelming evidence to the contrary, the administration and its surrogates have attempted to paint the attack as a peaceful gathering of law-abiding citizens—and people are not having it.
Vance was swiftly called out.
California Governor Gavin Newsom said California will sue the Trump administration for federalizing the California National Guard without the state's consent.
Newsom said Trump is "putting fuel on this fire, ever since he announced he was taking over the National Guard—an illegal act, an immoral act, an unconstitutional act." He pointed out that Trump's executive order says the Trump administration "had to coordinate with the governor of the state"—only they never actually did.
Newsom criticized the move, pointing to a Truth Social post from Trump earlier Sunday in which the president claimed the National Guard had already done a "great job." Newsom countered that the troops "hadn't even been deployed yet," saying Trump's words are "Orwellian—simply lying to people, unconstitutional, illegal act, his mess."
Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass said the decision to deploy federalized troops "is a chaotic escalation." In a statement, she said "the fear people are feeling in our city right now is very real—it's felt in our communities and within our families and it puts our neighborhoods at risk."

Florida Meteorologist Warns How DOGE Cuts Will Affect His Ability To Predict Hurricanes In On-Air Rant
Jun 09, 2025
John Morales, a WTVJ meteorologist, went viral for warning viewers about how cuts to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and National Weather Service (NWS) will compromise his ability to accurately predict and track Florida hurricanes—to say nothing of forecasts nationwide.
Morales said the overall quality of weather forecasts across the country is already “becoming degraded” due to recent budget cuts by billionaire Elon Musk's advisory Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), and cautioned that hurricane forecasting will likely be the next casualty.
Morales opened the segment with a clip from 2019, showing himself “confidently” assuring viewers that Hurricane Dorian would veer away from Florida just before making landfall.
But now, he warned, the ability to make such confident forecasts is in jeopardy:
"And I am here to tell you that I am not sure I can do that this year, because of the cuts, the gutting, the sledgehammer attack on science in general. And what we're starting to see is that the quality of the forecast is becoming degraded."
“Did you know that Central and South Florida weather service offices are basically 20% to 40% understaffed? From Tampa to Key West, including the Miami office. Now, this type of staffing shortage is having impacts across the nation because there’s been nearly [a] 20% reduction in weather balloon releases, launches that carry those radio signs.”
He also commented on the potential grounding of NOAA’s hurricane hunter aircraft and the "multi-generational impact on science in this country":
"There's also a chance, because of some of these cuts, that NOAA hurricane hunter aircraft will not be able to fly this year, and with less reconnaissance missions, we may be flying blind, and we may not exactly know how strong a hurricane is before it reaches the coastline, like happened a couple of years ago in Hurricane Otis in Acapulco, Mexico."
"So I was asked to talk about this today. I'm glad I was. I just want you to know that what you need to do is call your representatives, and make sure that these cuts are stopped."
You can hear what he said in the video below.
Others joined him in sounding the alarm.
Last week, Morales said in article for NBC6 that "never have we faced the combustible mix of a lack of meteorological data and the less accurate forecasts that follow, with an elevated propensity for the rapidly intensifying hurricanes of the manmade climate change era."
He noted that "hundreds" of scientists and all living former NWS directors "fear a 'needless loss of life' as a result of the loss of staff and resources at NWS brought on since January."
The NWS recently announced that it will be hiring new meteorologists and specialists to "stabilize" the agency. Meanwhile, NWS director Ken Graham said Americans should prepare themselves for an intense Atlantic hurricane season and "take proactive steps now to make a plan and gather supplies to ensure you're ready before a storm threatens."

Pediatrician Running To Unseat Lindsey Graham Says He's 'Full Of Sh*t' In Fiery Campaign Video
Jun 09, 2025
Dr. Annie Andrews, who is running to unseat Republican Senator Lindsey Graham in South Carolina, said he is "full of s*it" in a campaign video criticizing the four-term incumbent for flip-flopping his political positions throughout his career.
In her video, Andrews calls it “embarrassing” to watch Graham shift so dramatically from once criticizing President Donald Trump to actively courting his approval.
She opens the video by introducing herself as a pediatrician who’s spent nearly 20 years caring for families in South Carolina, trusted by parents “to treat their kids for just about anything you can imagine.”
Then, she holds up a series of X-rays featuring children with various medical conditions — each one illustrating a broader point. The first is an image of a child with measles pneumonia, which she notes is “a condition easily prevented by vaccines.”
She continues:
"This is a kid with cancer. One of the diseases the NIH doesn't have the funding to study anymore. And this is a kid who's been shot. Which, despite being the number one cause of death for children in America, is no longer classified as a public health crisis."
Presenting an X-ray of a constipated patient, she says:
"And this kid, there's really no other way to say this... is quite literally full of shit."
Shifting to an image of Graham, she goes for the jugular:
"And this is an adult who is also completely and unequivocally full of shit."
You can watch her campaign video below.
- YouTubewww.youtube.com
@couriernewsroom Democrat Annie Andrews entered South Carolina's race for U.S. Senate this morning, immediately landing blows to Republican Senator Lindsey Graham.
Andrews presents a supercut of Graham's statements defending Trump—particularly noteworthy because Graham, who once infamously stated that “If we nominate Trump, we will get destroyed...and we will deserve it,” an observation amid the turbulence of the 2016 presidential election that has only come back to bite Graham since.
She says:
"It's embarrassing and South Carolina deserves better."
Andrews criticizes Graham for supporting Trump’s Cabinet appointments and for his ties to Elon Musk, whom she characterizes as “an unelected billionaire” undermining programs like Social Security, Medicare, and veterans’ healthcare. She also mocks Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, calling him “a guy who can’t even organize a text thread”—a jab tied to the recent Signal chat controversy involving discussions of war plans.
On this note, she says:
"And Lindsey Graham voted to confirm every single one of these people. All while backing Trump's plan to cut taxes for millionaires and billionaires while raising yours. No wonder he won't show his face here in South Carolina."
But she goes further in her criticisms of Graham's ineffective leadership:
"Lindsey Graham has been a senator for half of my lifetime—and as it turns out, most senators don't get better with age. Will winning this race be easy? No. But you can't win if you don't run. And the one thing we can all agree on is [that] Lindsey Graham doesn't deserve a free pass back to D.C."
"Now, Lindsey is gonna tell you I'm radical, that I'm crazy. Because that's what weak men do when they feel threatened by strong women. I also just happen to be someone who isn't afraid of a fight. And like so many of you, I am worried about what the future holds for our kids and our state."
She concludes with the following call to action:
"Worrying won't do anything, but stepping up to join me in this fight just might. A fight where we put our common sense over culture wars and hope over hate."
"Right now, Lindsey Graham is counting on all of us to stay quiet. And that means one thing — it's time to get loud. I'm Dr. Annie Andrews, and I hope you'll join me."
In a post on X announcing her campaign, Andrews wrote:
"I'm Dr. Annie Andrews. I’m a pediatrician, not a politician. But either way I know how to handle people who are full of sh*t. Today I am announcing my campaign for US Senate to replace Lindsey Graham. RT if you're with me."
You can see her post below.
Many pledged their support and echoed her criticisms of Graham.
In 2022, Andrews ran for Congress in South Carolina’s 1st District but lost to Nancy Mace, the Republican incumbent by 14 percentage points. Afterward, she stepped away from her medical career at the Medical University of South Carolina to launch a political organization centered on children’s issues such as climate change, gun violence, and poverty.
Her affiliated political action committee, Their Future PAC, contributed $7,000 to select candidates during the 2024 cycle and reported about $5,000 in cash on hand at the year’s end, according to federal filings.
In remarks to The Associated Press addressing her current campaign, she said "in my view, he [Graham] doesn’t stand for anything or believe in anything other than what it takes to get reelected."

Not Like The Videos
"Years ago, I worked for a fairly high-end men's formalwear clothier. Every year, we at the management level would fly to California for a few days of conferences."
"Also in attendance one year was the guy who did the voice-over for our training videos. I'd never seen or met this guy, and he had the most godawful monotonous voice ever, perfect for corporate training videos. On the last night, there was always a drink-fest."
"I caught glances with this really cute guy and started chatting, it turned out to be him. He took me back to his room. There wasn't anything boring about what followed, and I never looked at training videos the same way again after that, lol."
- _MyCatsNameIsBinx_
"It would have been hilarious if he used the training video voice back in the room."
- NYArtFan1

- Schlag96
The Beginning Of Something Great
"My wife, though not wife at the time."

"To which she pretty much said. 'Okay, let's go,' and about half an hour later was having what was the best sex of my life."
"We've now been together almost 20 years."
- Kayback2
An Excellent Wine
"This hot manager at my company. She sat a couple of desks away from me and wasn't on my team, but we'd made eye contact a couple of times. Anyway, I go out drinking with my friends one night, and after I'm a few beers down, I head to the john to relieve myself."
"On the way back, guess who I see downing tequila shots at the bar. The liquor in my bloodstream emboldened me with the confidence to approach and greet her. She was pretty drunk, too, because she sprang up and hugged me."
"She admitted that she was pretty depressed after this guy she was seeing just vanished into thin air. After talking for god knows how long, she says, 'By the way, I have this really good Chinese wine back at my place. Wanna check it out?'"
" We head back to her place, and no sooner than the door is latched do we start furiously making out and taking each other's clothes off."

High School Reunion
"Girl from high school. She was considered one of the hottest girls in our school, easily. Unobtainable queen bee. Not in a mean way luckily she was actually super nice."
"Shortly after graduating, maybe a year or two, we ended up hanging out through a mutual friend. We found out we had a lot in common, and we very quickly went from friends to friends with benefits for one amazing summer before parting ways amicably."
"That girl was my sexual awakening, too. She was down to do anything, anytime, anywhere, with enthusiasm. I still look back on that time with great fondness, and I hope she's doing well."
- Idontdanceforfun
Art Imitating Life, Or...
"A girl who was sitting next to me on a plane. She was drawing, and I watched three of the flight attendants comment on how beautiful the drawing was, so I made a joke about the odds of another person walking by and saying the same thing."
"We chatted for a while, and we happened to be flying to the same city (no connecting flights or anything); it turned out we both lived there but in opposite parts. As we were getting off the plane, I asked if she would want to show me around the city sometime, and to my surprise, she said yes! We hung out probably about a dozen times, and had sex every time. We did not do it on the plane, though."
- RicardoVonCoucho
Do Not Recommend
"Someone who I absolutely used to hate as a teen. A few years back, when I was 26, I had sex with her after a party she attended (mutual friends thing) after not seeing her since high school."
"The next day we hung out for a bit, and I was reminded why I couldn't stand her."
- RipAgile1088
Happily Ever After
"At my 50th high school reunion, I re-met our Homecoming Queen. We hadn't been close in high school (she was way out of my league), but got along great 50 years later. We're now in a long-distance relationship, travel together, and visit back and forth. We're a couple of 70-year-old rabbits..."
- thirtyfivesteps
"I was at a wedding a few years ago for an elderly couple, in their 80s. They had grown up together, actually dated in high school, and then he joined the army, and she got married."
"They randomly ran into each other after both their spouses had passed away, in their 80s. Turns out, they had always thought of the other as "the one that got away,' and they got a second chance."
- Jeddak_of_Thark
Unexpected Turn Of Events
"A coworker I never liked. We were forced to work together once. Turns out she is really nice to work with and talk to. One thing led to another, and now we’ve been together for 13 years now."
- CJLogix
Most of these stories were pretty surprising, either in how they happened or in how quickly a situation escalated. It was adorable to see how many of these accidental encounters turned into something more, from meaningful marriages to long-time marriages.
