Glen Powell Offers Hilarious Reaction After 'This Is Us' Star Is Misidentified As Him At Golden Globes

The 'Anyone But You' star had the perfect response after 'The Hollywood Reporter' misidentified Justin Hartley as Powell in two posts about the 2024 Golden Globes on X, formerly Twitter.

This year's Golden Globes had many memorable moments, but one of the biggest didn't happen on the stage at the Beverly Hilton but rather on Twitter, when actors Glen Powell and Justin Hartley were confused for each other.

Powell is the star of 2022's Top Gun: Maverick and last year's Anyone But You. Hartley, on the other hand, starred in TV's This Is Us and the forthcoming CBS series Tracker.

But The Hollywood Reporter—yes, that Hollywood Reporter—seemed to think it was the other way around, and it caused fans all over Twitter to lose their minds.

Many stars, of course, would be deeply offended by this, but not Powell. He took to Twitter to call out The Hollywood Reporter's mistake in the most hilarious way possible.

Along with a screenshot of The Hollywood Reporter's blunder, Powell wrote:

"I think this is the perfect time to announce that @justinhartley and I will be starring in the most boring body-swap movie of all time."

It was the perfect response to a truly astonishing mistake, given that The Hollywood Report is, you know, one of the Bibles of the entertainment industry and has been for nearly 100 years.

It began when THR misidentified Hartley as Powell, who didn't even attend the Globes, as he walked the show's red carpet.

But it wasn't just one simple, quickly deleted mistake. THR then misidentified Hartley again in a photo of him kissing his wife, Sofia Pernas, moments later.

It's the type of mix-up you'd expect from a fan, but one of the industry's own trade publications? Not so much. Naturally, the internet found it hilarious.

And people loved Powell's response to the gaffe just as much.

Powell's a gold sport and all, but this is also a movie idea that might have legs. Someone get him a pitch meeting!

The White House Just Tried To Rebrand ICE Agents As 'NICE Agents' With Hilariously Propagandistic Graphic

The White House was criticized for sharing an image to rebrand ICE agents as "NICE" agents, including a poster of an agent kneeling next to a child that has been condemned as blatant propaganda.

The decision came after President Donald Trump shared a post from a supporter urging him to change the name of Immigration and Customs Enforcement to National Immigration and Customs Enforcement, which would change the acronym from ICE to NICE. Trump said in a post on Truth Social it would be a "GREAT IDEA!!!"

Investigators believe the suspect fired one or two rounds. The Secret Service returned fire but missed, and the suspect was later apprehended near a staircase leading into the ballroom.

Trump Just Totally Met His Match When He Tried His Macho Handshake On King Charles In Viral Clip

President Donald Trump was widely criticized for attempting his awkward tug-of-war-style handshake while greeting King Charles III at the White House on Monday, only for Charles to shut him down.

Charles addressed a joint meeting of Congress on Tuesday, becoming only the second British monarch to do so after his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, who spoke in 1991. His speech came as Trump has repeatedly criticized British Prime Minister Keir Starmer over Britain’s refusal to back the U.S.-Israeli war on Iran.

Cremer's words followed a security scare at the Washington Hilton, where Trump and senior officials were quickly moved to safety after shots rang out outside the ballroom. Investigators believe the suspect fired one or two rounds. The Secret Service returned fire but missed, and the suspect was later apprehended near a staircase leading into the ballroom.
