Everyday Inconveniences People Cannot Believe Haven't Been Solved By Now

"Reddit user kabkar1234 asked: 'What's a small, everyday inconvenience that you believe should have been solved by now?'"

There are still some basic life issues that make no sense.

In a world full of geniuses, there should only be progress.

Then why do I still need to fax stuff to my doctor's office?

If you're still faxing... shame on you.

There have to be better ways to improve the little things.

Well, at least one would hope.

Redditor kabkar1234 wanted to hear about what common life problems we need to fix ASAP, so they asked:

"What's a small, everyday inconvenience that you believe should have been solved by now?"

WHY?!?!

"Uploading your resume and then having to enter everything on the resume on the next screen."

- wpnmstr20

"And then when you get to the interview, it becomes immediately apparent the person interviewing you hasn't read a single word of it and has you recite it all."

GOO

"Those stickers on products that leave sticker residue when pulling them off. So now you have sticky goo with paper bits on your cup."

- AFRN

"I have a life hack. Use oil. Any kitchen oil, canola, olive, etc and it will come right off! I learned this by working in restaurants when I was young. People who let their kids put stickers on tables are the worst!"

- Refrigerator_Express

"There’s a product called 'Goo Gone' that removes it easily and it’s available everywhere but I deeply resent having to buy a product to remove a residue on another product that I bought. What a waste of my money! You are right -I bet there is a better way but manufacturers don’t wanna spend the money to use it."

- aslrules

Open Sesame

"When a food package says 'peel here' or 'tear here' and it never f**king works and you need to get scissors or a knife to open the package."

- Linux4ever_Leo

"Or worse the boxes where the flap is glued and you pull the thing and it just tears right off the box. Then you're forced to basically just rip the f**king box apart with your bare hands to get to the product. Lighten up on the damn glue!"

- jaleach

Audio UP

"The extremely poor audio quality of fast food drive-thru speakers. How in 2024 can it even sound that bad? HOW?"

- Granuaile

"Former audio engineer here. The audio of those types of speakers, and airline/airport speakers as mentioned in another comment, are purposely downsampled to 8-bit or even 4-bit. This causes a squaring effect on the sound waves (dithering), where the sharper edges of the waveforms are able to cut through and above the crowd or street sounds making it hard for the human ear to hear the human voice in a noisy environment."

"This makes it sound like the a** of course, but the words of the announcement come through to the listener and can be understood. That and they use cheap crappy amps and speaker cones, operated by dummies, that sit in the scorching sun and freezing rain and snow for years at a time. And the squared waves are harder on the amp and speaker so they break faster."

- 50DuckSizedHorses

What did she say?

"Music volume in movies being much louder than the dialogue."

- packerr

"And commercials blaring louder than the feature show."

Drive by Braille

"Invisible lane markings when roads are wet."

- truthcopy

"Do you live in Indiana?? I moved to IN from CA 24 years ago it rains and snows in CA, they have reflective paint it exists, but in IN nights like tonight it's I can't see a f**king thing on the road. No reflectors on the road either so you can't drive by braille either."

- pacNWinMidwest

Locating

"All wireless controller devices should have an easy way to locate them. If I can't find my TV remote, video game controller, etc, I should be able to go over to the device, hit a button, and the device starts beeping."

- neogreenlantern

"I had a tv with a beeping remote. That was more than 20 years ago. I don’t know why it didn’t become more popular. The TV itself sucked, but that beeping remote was awesome."

- BronxBelle

"Same with hearing aids. With their phone app, I should be able to locate them like a tile tracker, but nope. They'd rather sell you new ones."

- Loud_Ad_4515

Better Buckets

"The thin metal handles on cans of paint. Is there no better way to carry paint than by a garrote?"

- Janicegirlbomb2

"The way paint is packaged overall is crap. I presume there is already a tool to solve this, but when you pour paint in a tray, you always end up losing paint that dribbles down the outside of the bucket and it's also hard to close the buckets again after a while. Why can't paint be sold in a metal milk container or in big bottles or something."

Hang Up

"Spam and scam calls and emails."

- GruntUltra

"Email service providers have done a huge amount of work to combat this problem. Which is why your spam folder is jam-packed with spam and your inbox is relatively clean."

"Sometimes, however, you may sign up for something with your email address, and your data is passed along or sold to others. These emails are legitimate, though spammy."

- NEAWD

"Rates of wack spam calls, messages, and emails have gone up crazily in Australia over the last few years. I don't know what the hell has happened, but it's become a constant problem now. Infuriating!"

- Normal-Usual6306

Everyday Access Now

"Why the hell do I have to wait until Monday for a check to deposit in 2024?"

- Ill_Employer_1665

"I really wish payday was like Wednesday. Because when I try and pay my credit card on a Friday, the day I get paid, it doesn't get posted until Monday, or even later, because of the weekend."

Constant Cleaning

"Hairs getting stuck in a vacuum and needing to be cleaned often."

- Mel_zel

"This problem has been solved. But it's not cheap."

"We have one of the more expensive fancy-pants Dyson vacuums and the head it came with has some kind of design that prevents hair, fur, and basically all other obstructions from clogging the head. Have used it several times per week in a house with 2 women and 4 cats and it's never had so much as a single hair caught in the head."

- 87gaming

Open Slowly

"Hard taco shell packaging. It should read '12 shells, 9 after you open them.'"

- Cosmicginger

"It’s messed up, but I got in the habit a few years back of just buying two things of taco shells even though one should be enough because I never know until I get home whether most of them in one box will be smashed. I also open the plastic like I’m defusing a bomb."

- JT3468

"As a person who used to work at a taco shell factory, we try really hard to make sure they don’t break and to catch the broken ones."

- samjsatt

Going Stale

"Cereal bags not having a zipper closure."

- Chancetobelieve

"My conspiracy theory is that they don't do zip closures because they want your cereal to go stale faster so you have to buy more cereal sooner."

- zottz

"I am pretty sure it's just because manufacturers are just cheap as hell."

- PancAshAsh

Cover it ALL!

"Insurance that doesn’t stop at the neck. My eyes, ears, and teeth are all part of my body, vital to my health, and shouldn’t require separate policies. Jeeze."

- rockstoneshellbone

"A core weirdness is that they are actually inverted products. Most people's dental and vision insurance cover some expected annual basics like cleanings and contacts but crap out as soon as you have an unusual medical situation. It is sort of like just paying for your expected use ahead of time. Whereas medical insurance sucks until you've hit your deductible but then protects you against catastrophe."

- UncleMeat11

Redundant

"Universal medical records. It is insane that you have to fill out a medical history at every doctor's office you go to and rely on your own memory or worse, a family member's memory of all of your medications and diagnoses for your entire life."

- Brucine

I felt many of these deeply.

Those cereal bags kill me.

And even when I'm careful, they still blow up the cereal right in my face.

I am also on board with uniformly entering our medical histories.

We're constantly answering repetitive questions.

That is a time waste.

And time is fleeting. I don't have it to waste.

Gather 'round, ladies and gentlemen, for it's time for the latest chapter in the ongoing story of how conservatives are so weirdly angry and obsessed about "wokeness" that they are just making stuff up out of thin air to justify it.

People Reveal The Oddest Things They Actually Find Attractive

Have you ever heard the saying "so ugly that it's cute"?

It's something people often say about moose calves here where I live. Adult bull moose are sometimes described as majestic because of their massive size and antlers, but they're kind of an odd looking animal.
