The two actors posed on the steps of each other's trailors in fitting fashion as they began filming for the sequel to the beloved body-swap comedy.

It's official, guys!

After much fan demand for a sequel to the 2003 film Freaky Friday starring Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan, Freaky Friday 2 is happening.

After 20 years, Curtis, 65, and Lohan, 37, are re-teaming to reprise their mother-daughter swapping roles in the popular Disney comedy film that was the studio's third movie adaptation based on Mary Rodgers' 1972 novel of the same name.

The premise centers on teenage daughter Anna Coleman and her mom Tess magically switching bodies and subsequently gaining perspectives from their different points of view.

Last year, Curtis celebrated the end of the drawn-out SAG/AFTRA strike by teasing that she and Lohan could "switch places again in the near future!"

The pair delivered on that promise on Monday with a fun photo posted by Disney Studios that showed them sitting on the steps of their trailers but swapping positions to correspond with their opposite names on the trailer doors.

In the Instagram photo's caption, Disney confirmed:

"The Colemans are back and coming to theaters in 2025! The sequel to Freaky Friday is now in production!"

Fans can hardly wait.

In March, Lindsay told People the movie was “in the process" but didn't specify when production would begin.

With the lack of details including whether or not there was a completed script, the actor expressed being "excited to work with Jamie again and see how much further we can take it.”

She added:

“Because we talk almost every other day in general, so I think we're going to have a lot of fun with this."

Can we swap 2024 for 2025 already?

When Freaky Friday celebrated its 20th anniversary last year, Curtis reunited with Lohan for a joint interview with the New York Times, and the duo reflected fondly on their time working together on the film.

Curtis said:

“As I went around the world with Halloween Ends, people wanted to know if there was going to be another 'Freaky Friday.'"
"Something really touched a chord. When I came back, I called my friends at Disney and said, 'It feels like there's a movie to be made.’”

Lohan added that they were both "open" to doing a sequel but stressed:

“We would only make something that people would absolutely adore."

Curtis also touched on her friendship with her on-screen daughter, saying:

"We met in an office, did the read-through, and it was game on in a big way. I had to let go of every control mechanism and just let it fly."
"Lindsay was as fluid as I was. If you look at 'The Parent Trap', she has a facility as an actor that is really impressive. It was a big job."
"It was a big production. And our relationship was very easy."

According to Variety, Lohan and Curtis will be joined by returning cast members Mark Harmon, Chad Michael Murray, Christina Vidal Mitchell, Haley Hudson, Lucille Soong, Stephen Tobolowsky, and Rosalind Chao.

New cast members for the sequel will include Julia Butters, Manny Jacinto, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, and Sophia Hammons.

American YouTuber Arrested After Sneaking Onto Remote Island And Leaving Diet Coke For Uncontacted Tribe

24-year-old YouTuber Mykhailo Viktorovych Polyakov was arrested after making contact with one of the world's last uncontacted tribes, making the perilous and ill-advised journey to North Sentinel Island and leaving a coconut and a can of Diet Coke on the beach as a gift to the Sentinelese.

Polyakov, 24, arrived at the northeastern shore of North Sentinel Island at 10 a.m. on March 29, according to police reports. He used binoculars to survey the land but saw no one. He then climbed ashore, leaving behind a Diet Coke and a coconut, took sand samples, and recorded a video, the authorities said.
