Some injuries occur in ways that you wouldn't think would cause an injury, but it sure did. These people reveal the dumbest ways they have been injured.

u/Nerdiant asks:

What is the stupidest way you have been injured?

Watch out for those coughs

Giphy

Coughed, pulled muscle in back

Bad execution

I was helping my buddy and his dad do a kitchen demo and we were in the process of ripping off the old cabinet doors. I reached up and grabbed on to a particularly stubborn cabinet door that needed just a touch of extra force to rip it off the hinges. For some reason I decided the two handed approach was worth a shot and also decided that instead of trying to tear it down I would simply let my feet off the ground and let the weight of my body do the work...

The door came off with such force it slapped my glasses clean off my face and busted a nice fat gash above my eyebrow. Took us 10 minutes to stop laughing at my stupidity and another 15 of searching to find my glasses that had ricocheted off the floor and into the oven somehow.

The year you got glasses

10 years old. Accidentally stepped on a croquet ball (it was bright orange). Broke my ankle.

The snowball effect

In middle school I was on crutches because I broke by ankle, so in my 5th grade wisdom I decided to play soccer on an icy field using the crutches.... I broke my other ankle and ended up in a wheelchair. While in the wheelchair I got pretty good at doing wheelies and showed off a lot... That was until I tried it on carpet and the wheels slipped and I flipped the chair smashing my head into the floor giving myself a concussion. So yeah that.

The lethal sneeze

Sneezed while crouched down and gave myself a concussion from head butting the granite countertop

Mother nature at her sneakiest

One time I got chemical burns around my face from eating too much pineapple. I can list more things like this.

When your desire for wine is deadly

Giphy

I stabbed myself in the wrist trying to open a bottle of wine with a pocket knife. I hit a really weird spot in my wrist because it didn't bleed but it left a nasty scar which is still here nearly 20 years later.

Playgrounds are dangerous turfs

This only lasted for a minute but when I was younger, my sis and I were at a family party and on a swing set. Some kids do this jump off when you get to the peak of the forward swing and see how far you can land.

For some reason, my dumb self decides to let go during the back swing and I land chest first on the ground. I got up and literally thought I was dying while grasping for air since my lungs got knocked out. All I remember is my dad laughing at me while I was crawling up the deck.

When you catch fire

Caught fire at a party once at uni, bonded my sock to my leg and needed a skin graft for the 3rd degree burns. Following the creation of some rather strong punch, a lot of the sauce being down my jeans, some lass dropped a cigarette on me at some point later in the evening and I didn't notice.

The irony...

Giphy

I always wear a helmet when skiing. I was walking out to my car after a great day on the slopes and slipped. Nothing crazy just a little slip on the ice. I would have been fine, except I landed on my helmet. My full weight came down on my helmet, which was clipped onto my backpack, resulting in a broken rib.

The only bone I've ever broken... was a result of falling on a helmet.

Unplugging may induce trauma

Unplugging an old electric drill. It was stuck. Got it half way out. Grabbed the metal part of the plug. The shock threw me across the room. Fun!

ugoretz

Beware the spaghetti

Making spaghetti, about to snap them in half. Ended up twisting them while trying to snap them, and the sharp spaghetti made multiple cuts in my hands :c

Bunny-Girl-Zoe

Yourself as an obstacle...in the physical sense

Giphy

I've tripped over my own feet more than I like to admit. One time it resulted in a fractured ankle.

When imagination takes you to dangerous heights

When I was very young, I thought something special was hidden on the topside of my parents' ceiling fan for some reason. I stacked a bunch of pillows as a makeshift ladder on top of their bed, only to fall from it and break my elbow down the middle.

Still don't know why I did that.

Wii injuries

I was playing a game on the Wii and was jumping around a lot. The vibrations from my feet made the blanket on the couch fall down and I tripped on it. Messed up my knee real good. Could barely walk for weeks.

When your hand becomes an onion

Giphy

About two weeks ago I was cutting onions and accidentally cut right into my finger like it was on onion. It just kind of happened... I'm a dumba**.

When you go too hard in table tennis

Playing table tennis. Game got intense, and I didn't want to lose. So, opponent hits the ball really close to the edge of my side of the table, I decided to go for the ball hard... slam my knuckles right into the edge of the table, bleeding profusely. To this day, almost 10 years later, those stupid scars are across my knuckles now.

You are not the only one

Am I the only one that ran through a glass door at full speed because I thought it was open?

Video Of Trump Ribbon Cutting Ceremony Is All Kinds Of Awkward After Media Ban Backfires Spectacularly

President Donald Trump's decision to ban CNN, MS NOW, and Politico from the White House prompted a network boycott in solidarity and a ribbon cutting ceremony on the White House's South Lawn came with completely indecipherable audio because the press pool has decided to stop filming daily events.

Footage from a Monday ribbon cutting ceremony revealed that the sounds of the Marine One chopper just yards away drowned out Trump's remarks. The far-right network Newsmax was on the scene, and even they had to admit that Trump's attack against the free press seemed to be “backfiring just a little bit.”

House Republicans Get Hit With Epic Reminder After Tweet Warning About Communists Building Walls

After the official House Republicans X account tweeted a warning that "every communist country eventually builds a wall," critics were quick to point out the party's general hypocrisy.

President Donald Trump has long advocated for the United States to construct a border wall, making it a cornerstone of his immigration policy back in 2016. Since then, Republicans have continued to defend the wall as necessary for reasons of national security.

Mike Pence Reveals Trump's Telling Response After Pence Offered His Prayers Following Jan. 6 Rift

Vice President Mike Pence told the audience during his appearance at the Economic Club of Washington, D.C. that President Donald Trump rejected his offer of "praying" for him following their public rift in the aftermath of the January 6 insurrection.

Pence has long appeared to play both sides, on one hand condemning Trump for pushing the "Big Lie" that the 2020 election was fraudulent, while on the other accusing Democrats of not advocating for election integrity. But he has been out of Trump's good graces for years now since his decision to certify Joe Biden's victory in the 2020 presidential election.
