Sometimes you have to apologize to your spouse for not doing the dishes, or forgetting an important date.
Motocross racer Carey Hart had to apologize for something far worse: getting injured while practicing. Hart, who was practicing last Thursday, had an accident that involved his handlebars jackknifing and striking him very hard in the gut.
You can see his Instagram post here.
The details are pretty gruesome, per his account.
"Welp, I ran out of talent 🤦🏻♂️🤣. I had a pretty nasty get off, practicing Thursday morning. Landed off a jump, bars knifed, and took the bar to the gut while going over the bars."
"As I understand it, severed my small intestine from my colon. I’m fine and will recover from this."
He was quick to thank his wife P!nk for stepping up to the plate.
"...and a huge thanks to @pink . As always does in these situations w/ me, she steps up and takes charge at the hospital. Sorry to put you through this, yet again 🤣."
The couple, who share two children together, first met at the X Games in 2001, marrying in 2006. By all accounts, they are still deeply in love over 20 years later, with P!nk marking their anniversary each year on her social media.
However, her social media is also where she has voiced issues with Hart's propensity for injuries that are harder to shake off as the couple ages.
For example, she commented on an earlier post this year, encouraging him to take some time off.
"Or maybe take a rest 😂."
Concern and well wishes poured in after his post.

The comment section was squarely on P!nk's side in what is clearly an ongoing discussion in that household.

He has been giving her all sorts of stress with his antics, talented as they are.

People pointed out he's not exactly in his X Games prime age anymore.

Perhaps tongue-in-cheek, folks suggested he cool it with the notoriously dangerous bikes.

Really, one commenter managed to sum it up: his life and legacy aren't about dirt bikes, but his loved ones.

At the very least, Hart has to do some serious healing before he can even look at another dirt bike.
