The Oscar winner shut down criticism while guest hosting Today with Jenna & Friends over her Mother's Day video in which she promoted her brand of lubricant while in bed with partner Van Hunt.

In 2025, we're all about transparency and honesty, but where is the line between candor and too much information?

That was a question Instagram users were left to grapple with after Halle Berry shared a revealing video on Mother's Day of herself in bed with her partner, Van Hunt, promoting their "Let's Spin" lubricant from their Respin Health line.

In case you need a reminder, here is the video:

Some viewers were all about it, happy to see Halle Berry and Van Hunt in love and glad to see more people talking about different forms of intimacy, especially for older audiences.

But others scoffed at the video, viewing it as too personal, and intimate without viewers' consent, especially on a "family-friendly platform" like Instagram.

When Berry appeared on Today with Jenna & Friends, she had a lot to say about the online backlash.

"Women, other women, got in their feelings. ‘Was it right for her to be in her bed talking about spinning with her man?’ Yes!"
"'Should she be talking about that on Mother’s Day?' 'Shouldn’t she be with her kids somewhere?'"
"First of all, it’s not Kids' Day. It’s called Mother’s Day. Kids' Day is every day of the year. That’s my day. And if I wanna be in bed and spin with my man, then that’s what I’m gonna do."
"It’s the most natural thing that we do as women, as men, and for people to be offended by that, saying, 'Instagram is a family channel!' Yeah, and we should be allowed to talk about this in our families."
"We have sex. It’s the most natural thing we do. Men do it. Women do it."
"You saw nothing. So we’re in the bed, so what?"
"It should be okay to celebrate that and not be criticized for talking about love. I'm sorry, but we should talk more about loving each other."

Some applauded Berry for speaking out and for making discussions about intimacy more accessible.

Though this conversation was not everyone's cup of tea, it's time to acknowledge that sex is not the taboo subject it used to be. And it's good for people to know there are new ways to make intimacy more enjoyable, whether they're interested in Respin Health or some other products.

Trump Just Tried To Blame His 'Meet The Press' Tantrum On The Weather—And Nobody's Buying It

President Donald Trump was criticized after he abruptly stormed out of an interview on Meet the Press on Sunday only to blame his tantrum on the rain.
