Woman Discovers She Dyed Her Hair In The Middle Of The Night While On Ambien In Viral TikTok

TikToker @tinamadlibs was stunned to discover upon waking up that she had dyed her hair in the middle of the night after she'd taken Ambien before bedtime—and filmed it.

There are some surprises you just really don't want to wake up to.

This is a reality that people who naturally sleepwalk might experience when they wake up in the morning and discover fridge doors or cabinets open, wondering what they might have said, done, or ate during the night.

But some people experience sleepwalking later in life when they discover that they can be medically induced by certain prescriptions and over-the-counter medications, a popular one being the sleep aid Ambien.

Tina of @TinaMadLibs was one such customer who had experienced a range of activities while utilizing Ambien—but just recently, she woke up to quite the sight in her home: a range of home hair dye products that were left open and clearly had been used during the night, despite her having no memory of it.

Tina shared the discovery in this video:

@tinamadlibs

What did I do last night? I’m so glad you asked. Apparently I’m now a professional hairstylist. Make sure to book your appointment today. Flexible hours, but only after midnight…. #sleepwalking #ididthat #hairdye

After countless replies asking to see the video, Tina obliged and shared the secret video footage, with the warning that this was a medically-induced episode. The TikToker was going through perimenopause and struggling to sleep, and when she was having a particularly difficult time, she would take Ambien.

But Ambien had proven to be problematic for her, as she has talked, sleepwalked, sleep-shopped, and now sleep-dyed her hair, while using the medication.

While in her sleep state, the TikToker used a variety of affectations, ranging from Jim Carrey to a French accent, always with expressive eyes and bared teeth.

From beginning to treat her hair, to checking her "watch" for the time, which was actually just a collection of bracelets, to blowing out her hair to check the "damage," the video is pure chaos.

While laughing at the video, fellow TikTokers shared their own Ambien sleepwalking stories.

Mortified by other people's stories of being affected by Ambien, the TikToker openly questioned how this was a viable and safe drug for people to use.

From driving to eating inedible items to walking through an alligator pond, people have done extreme things while just trying to get some sleep.

Lets talk about it … how is your sleep aid affecting you? These stories you guys are sharing are wild… stay safe … stay sleepy! #ambian #ambienchronicles #sleepwalking #hairtok #loveyaface #tiktoklive #letstalk

It's unclear if Tina will continue to use Ambien during extreme "emergencies," but there's definitely a vested interest in her alter-ego's future adventures.

And maybe anyone who hasn't tried Ambien before should make sure their doors and windows are locked, car keys are hidden, alligators are generally inaccessible, and anything else you might not want your 3:00AM alter-ego getting into is generally locked up tight before trying the medicine out for the first time.

Just in case.
