In a recent video for Time 100, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle encouraged American citizens to vote in the upcoming election.

They also reminded viewers to "reject hate speech, misinformation and online negativity" as they go to the polls, without calling out anyone in particular.

President Trump's response has been called out as strangely insulting and misogynistic.

It's hard to imagine why Trump, asked about a joint statement from the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, would choose to insult only the woman, and to do it by addressing the man.

Many pointed out that Markle never mentioned President Trump in the video.

President Trump's history of mistreating women is long and well-documented.

Some felt there were other, more important issues reporters should be asking about.

Please be sure to vote this November. It's your right and civic duty as an American!

Trump would later declare a full 90-day suspension of all the “reciprocal” tariffs that took effect at midnight April 10—except for those on China—in a dramatic about-face from a president who had long championed his historically high tariff rates as permanent.
