On Wednesday, February 24, Democratic Congresswoman Marie Newman of Illinois, erected a transgender flag outside her office both to show support for the community and send a message to her neighbor, conspiracy-theory believing Republican Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia.

Greene, never one to shy away from the opportunity to remind America of her bigoted ideas, imitated Newman's video with one of her own.

Outside her office, Greene hung up a poster with a transphobic message:

"There are TWO genders: Male & Female"

Newman responded in kind, calling out Greene's hate speech while also wondering why it wasn't being flagged by social media outlets like Facebook.

Issues of LGBTQ+ equality are especially important to Newman, whose daughter is transgender.

On Twitter, Greene was harshly criticized by colleagues and pundits.

Many Americans online were ashamed that they were being represented in Congress by someone like Marjorie Taylor Greene.

Many Republicans in Congress have continued to offer Greene her support despite her countless controversies.

Some media outlets also gained some negative attention for posing the conflict between the two Congresswomen as a "feud."

Marjorie Taylor Greene continues to make national headlines with her shocking displays of transphobia.

Former GOP Senator Gets Brutal Wakeup Call After Criticizing People For Playing 'Candy Crush' Instead Of 'Making Babies'

Ben Sasse represented Nebraska in the United States Senate from 2015 to 2023. As a Midwestern moderate, the sometimes controversial Sasse was often critical of MAGA Republican President Donald Trump on social media and on the Senate floor.

At one point, the Nebraska GOP censured him because of his criticism of Trump. But Sasse, like Maine Republican Senator Susan Collins, would still vote with the majority of his party when his vote was needed to back Trump's agenda.
