Tim Robbins Offers Brutal Response After MAGA Author Claims They 'Hung Out' Together

After Trump supporter and author Nick Adams shared a photo of himself 'hanging out' with the actor at JFK airport, Robbins quickly shut that notion down.

Acclaimed actor Tim Robbins—best known for his roles in films like The Shawshank Redemption, Jacob's Ladder and Mystic Riverdidn't hold back when responding to a conservative author's claim on Twitter.

It all started when Nick Adams—a Trump supporter and author of several books including Trump and Churchill: Defenders of Western Civilisation—posted a photo with Robbins.

He claimed they were "hanging out" together while waiting for their respective flights at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York City.

You can see Adams' tweet below.

However, Robbins quickly clarified the situation with a brutally honest response:

"Not 'hanging out.' Dude asked for a picture. I obliged. He left."

You can see Robbins' response below.

Robbins' straightforward clarification quickly gained attention, prompting Twitter to add a community note to Adams' original tweet.

The note reads:

"According to Tim Robbins, they were not hanging out. When asked to take a photo, Robbins obliged."

Many appreciated the actor's bluntness and criticized Adams for lying.

Adams, on the other hand, did not appear pleased with Robbins' clarification or the subsequent laughter at his expense. In response, he referred to Robbins as a "woke Hollywood liberal" and doubled down:

"It's true that Tim Robbins and I were not 'hanging out' like friends would."
"Alpha males are not friends with beta Hollywood liberals. The truth is, when Tim sought me out at the airport, I didn't even recognize him. Let me put it this way, if the Shawshank Redemption had a sequel, they would have to recast Andy Dufresne."

Adams then proceeded to make the absurd claim that Robbins—who is currently starring on AppleTV+'s critically acclaimed series Silo and boasts an enormous filmography of acclaimed film performances—was "in tears" because he "can't get any work":

"The failing actor began pouring his heart out to me in tears about how he can't get any work. I told Tim to clean himself up and that he was embarrassing me."
"That's when I offered to take a photo with him and post it on my massive Twitter (much larger than his) to cheer him up (and get rid of him). That's the last time I try to do something nice for a woke Hollywood liberal."

You can see his tweet below.

Naturally, others proceeded to call Adams out for the ridiculousness of his follow-up tweet.

Adams has previously been ridiculed for equally absurd claims and statements.

He was mocked online last year after he claimed that the 2022 midterm "red wave" would have happened if Gen Z kids had eaten at Hooters—yes, the restaurant whose wait staff are primarily young women whose revealing outfits and sex appeal are played up and are a primary component of the company's image—when they were children.

Earlier this year, he raised eyebrows after he called for a boycott of Mars Inc.—the company which produces M&M's—after it announced it would produce packs “spotlighting dynamic female M&M’S characters.”

A furious Adams said in a post published to Twitter he is "DONE" with M&M's and not a single one "will pass [his] lips until Mars issues a formal apology and releases an all-male package" of the popular candy to "demonstrate their commitment to gender equality."

Adams called for an immediate company boycott after calling the female M&M's "a slap in the face to men everywhere" and included video of himself stomping on a bag of the candy after he had already paid for it.

Dads have a lot to learn when it comes to raising their kids, and in some case, single dads don't always have the same sounding board for their choices as married couples and co-parents.

This isn't talked about enough, but dads with daughters have the added pressure of learning how to take care of girls, from dressing them to taking care of their hair, which can be a very different experience from raising boys. If they weren't raised with sisters or female cousins, they could be at a total loss for how to approach this.
