As we get pumped up about Brie Larson taking on the role of Captain Marvel, theories are already flying about the next installment in the 'Avengers' franchise--since the last film left us in such a state of shock.

From this point on, SPOILER ALERT!!!!!!

First, though, let's get REALLY excited for Brie Larson as the heroine Captain Marvel:

Daaaaang, girl!

So now, we have a time paradox coming up. The movie, Captain Marvel, is taking us back in time before the events of Infinity War, and we know Captain Marvel survived Thanos' ravaging of the Earth's population; she was the person Nick Fury paged at the end of the film.

Now fans are struggling to figure out how she's going to fit in. Twitter user @incorrectbucko has a nice theory:

Aww, grocery shopping: Tony and Steve will fight about which kind of cucumbers to get, and it will be adorable. Sadly, though, that's unlikely; and what's worse, is there's a significant chance that both Captain America and Iron Man will die in A4, as neither Chris Evans nor Robert Downey Jr. are contracted for any further Marvel films. Yikes.

But since no one at Marvel is spilling the beans, the speculation continues. Some say that Captain Marvel will make an ultra-powered entrance:

Some are looking forward to the new friends:

Some think she'll take on a new leadership role:

But mostly, we are just excited to get out of the sadness that we've been living in since Infinity War.

Captain Marvel currently has a March 8, 2019 release date and will take place in the mid-90s, in a strangely undocumented midpoint of the Marvel Universe. In an interview withEntertainment Weekly, the director, Anna Boden--who is also the first female director in the MCU--said:

"This is not a superhero who's perfect or otherworldly or has some godlike connection, but what makes her special is just how human she is. She's funny, but doesn't always tell good jokes. And she can be headstrong and reckless and doesn't always make the perfect decisions for herself. But at her core, she has so much heart and so much humanity — and all of its messiness."

We're really looking forward to seeing Brie Larson tackle this role.
