'Euphoria' Star Claps Back On TikTok After Troll Criticizes Her For Going To College

Actor Storm Reid spoke out on TikTok after a troll accused the University of Southern California student of treating going to college like a "flex."

Actor Storm Reid had the perfect response to a troll who tried to drag her for, of all things, going to college.

Reid, who is best known for her work on HBO's Euphoria and The Last Of Us, is about to finish her studies at the prestigious University of Southern California's School of Dramatic Arts, graduating on May 16.

And, like most people her age these days, she posted about the experience on her TikTok channel. Big mistake, at least as far as one viewer was concerned.

The troll accused Reid of trying to "flex" by talking about going to college, and Reid had the perfect response.

@stormreid

Replying to @Drizzy Hendrix and i was in the School of Dramatic Arts soooooo im confused?!

The commenter wrote to Reid:

"College isn't a flex, success is. And college isn't needed to be successful. College just pushes people into debt."
"Unless you're becoming a doctor or something, a lot of people don't even use their degrees."

Fair points, really, but does that mean Reid isn't allowed to be excited and proud of herself for getting an education?

Reid, for one, wasn't having it. She said that while she usually ignores negative comments, this one warranted a response.

In her video, she said:

"You're right, college isn't for everybody, but it was for me. I wanted to go. I felt like I needed to go."
"I was able to do that and work full time. I wanted to work and I wanted to further my education, so I did that."

She went on to point out that USC is highly selective, accepting just 12% of applicants at the time Reid entered. That has since fallen to 8%, and she contended that being one of that small pool of applicants is worth being proud of.

She explained:

"I'm all for people having their own opinions. But let's be real. Let's tap into reality. I did that."
"And I also got an Emmy while doing it, in college, 20 years old, junior in college."

And that's that on that!

On TikTok, Reid got tons of applause for the way she handled the subject.

Though Reid has announced that her time on Euphoria ended with season two, she surely has a continued bright future ahead, and that's definitely a "flex."
