The Fleetwood Mac singer shared her letter to the 'People's Champion' award winner on Twitter.

Lizzo walked away from the 2022 People's Choice Awards on Tuesday night with two trophies.

Her song "About Damn Time" won song of the year, and Lizzo was also awarded the People's Champion Award, which recognizes a person who works and uses their platform to make a difference by fighting social injustices.

The true winning moment, however, commenced during her acceptance speech.

Lizzo began:

"I'mma be honest, when I first heard about this award, I was on the fence about whether I should accept."
"Because, if I'm the people's champ, I don't need a trophy for championing people."
"You know what I'm saying?"

She continued:

"I'm here tonight, because to be an icon isn't about how long you've had your platform."
"Being an icon is what you do with that platform."
"And ever since the beginning of my career, I've used my platform to amplify marginalized voices."

With that, she changed the direction of her acceptance speech:

"So tonight, I am sharing this honor. Make some noise for the people, y'all."
"These are all activists and people that I think deserve the spotlight."

As the audience cheered, a group of activists lined the stage alongside Lizzo as the singer introduced each one of them and described their powerful work toward social justice.

Lizzo concluded:

"Power will always be to the people."
"Thank you so much People's Choice."
"Follow them, follow them and support them."

The power of Lizzo's speech wasn't only felt at the event.

Twitter was absolutely overwhelmed and applauded the singer not only for her win but also for acknowledging the activists and educating the public on their causes.

One fellow musician in particular sang her praises, penning her a heartfelt note on Twitter.

Iconic Fleetwood Mac singer Stevie Nicks tweeted:

"Dearest Lizzo - In my opinion - your presentation last night on the People's Choice Awards was not only so beautiful and so needed - that you get the award for being a great woman of our time."
"I was so impressed and so touched that you put that together and pulled it off."
"It was stunning - and everyone heard you."
"You have given all women soundbites forever - flute player, singer, songwriter, future politician...?"

Nicks finished:

"Your name is in the stars now - Much love, Stevie Nicks"

The People's Choice Twitter account seconded the sentiment.

And it wasn't long before the rest of Twitter professed the same and even thanked Nicks for also "lifting up" women.

The People's Champion also responded.

Thank you Lizzo for acknowledging these women and their fight for the greater good.

Stephen Colbert Makes Somber Plea To Americans In Wake Of Charlie Kirk's Death

Late-night host Stephen Colbert had a somber message for Americans as he addressed the assassination of far-right activist Charlie Kirk, stressing that "political violence only leads to more political violence."

Kirk died after an unidentified gunman shot him in the neck as he—ironically enough—mocked victims of gun violence at an event in Utah Valley State University. Kirk's murder has galvanized the far-right, with President Donald Trump and his surrogates claiming without evidence that rhetoric from Democrats is responsible for Kirk's death.

TikToker Hilariously Calls Out Target After Champion Pants Feature Awkwardly-Placed Front Pleat

Sometimes you can just tell when something was designed *for* women, but was not actually designed *by* women.

Take, for instance, the new pleated pants available at Target from the Champion clothing line. While there's nothing wrong with pleated pants and they certainly have a suitable spot in the workplace, the latest rendition of Champion pleated pants are, shall we say, NSFW.

Woman Goes Viral After Revealing How Her Obsession With Matcha Landed Her In The Hospital

Let's be honest: Too much of anything isn't good for us. It's all about the balance!

But the media and social media trends have taught us that certain things are really good for us, encouraging us to be like the "very mindful and very demure" girls and take care of ourselves. One such example is drinking more matcha, especially if you really like coffee or think you have a caffeine addiction.
