Elsie's, a restaurant in Haddon Township, New Jersey is giving a whole new meaning to the term "extra pickles."

They serve their sandwiches on giant hollowed-out pickles, made with their own special recipe.

The result is the highest pickle-to-sandwich ratio possible.

Co-owner Katherine Cohen told thrillist:

"We are a sandwich shop but, in lieu of bread, we use our Elsie's signature pickle."
"We have a family pickle recipe that we resurrected and we started making sandwiches on our signature pickles and people lost their minds so we just rolled with it."

If a giant pickle isn't your thing, Elsie's also offers pickle or cucumber roll-up versions of their specialty sandwiches. You can go even farther and customize your sandwich ingredients too.

Options include the standard meats, cheeses and condiments, along with special items like Sriracha or wasabi mayonnaise.

Twitter had mixed feelings about the idea of a pickle sandwich.

Some were totally there for it.

Others were much less excited by the idea.

Whatever your feelings on pickle sandwiches, there's no denying that Elsie's has definitely found their niche with this unique product.

Beef, which Rollins elevated near the top of the food pyramid in the dietary guidelines she unveiled this month, increased 1% over the month and was up 16.4% compared with a year earlier.
