The 'Pitch Perfect' actor and her partner Ramona Agruma opened up about the difficulties they've faced after going public with their romance.

Actress Rebel Wilson recently revealed her partner Ramona Agruma's family hasn't been as supportive as they might be in the wake of Wilson and Agruma's announcement of their relationship last year.

Wilson said:

"Ramona’s family hasn’t been as accepting.
"And so in many respects, it has been a lot harder on her to have to make the news public...."
"As her partner, I feel so sad to see what happened with her family over it."
"Hopefully, people will change their attitudes about things."

Someone remarked it is truly a sad situation to be in.

The couple was forced to announce said relationship due to a threatened outing by a newspaper writer that also came with a flutter of media attention.

People felt bad for Wilson and Agruma then, as it clearly was not either of their decision to accelerate their coming-out timeline.

Unlike Agruma's family, people were very welcoming to the couple during the early days of their relationship announcement.

How could you not be happy for them, with a caption like this?

They've had such a beautiful relationship since last June, it's hard to picture how Agruma's family is less than accepting.

But Wilson attributes that to Agruma not being in the public eye and her and her family not being used to that sort of scrutiny.

"And so in many respects, it has been a lot harder on her to have to make the news public."

Support for the couple on their announcements over the past year that they are together and having a child via Wilson's surrogate were received with more support.

Even Wilson's former costar from Pitch Perfect congratulated them.

Still others noted 2022 was quite the big year for Rebel Wilson.

Here's hoping Wilson and Agruma can have a 2023 that's a bit calmer and full of supportive family.

Conservatives Predictably Outraged After Mattel Introduces New Barbie With Type 1 Diabetes

Conservatives lashed out at toymaker Mattel after the company introduced a new Barbie doll with Type 1 diabetes, including an insulin pump and blood sugar tracker—an action they say is "woke" while not understanding the difference between Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes.

Mattel revealed a new partnership with Breakthrough T1D— formerly known as the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation—to launch a Barbie doll that authentically represents people living with Type 1 diabetes. The collaboration, Mattel said, ensures the doll “truly captures the community,” including accessories that “accurately reflect the medical equipment” commonly used by individuals with the condition.

MAGA Influencer Charlie Kirk Called Out After Blaming DEI For High Death Toll In Texas Flooding Disaster

Turning Point USA founder and MAGA influencer Charlie Kirk was harshly criticized after he claimed the death toll in the flash floods that have devastated central Texas "would not have been as high if it wasn't for DEI," ridiculously suggesting that principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion were responsible.

Kirk's comments are reflective of President Donald Trump’s broader push to dismantle federal programs focused on diversity and inclusion—part of what he pledged in his inaugural address would be a campaign to stop attempts to “socially engineer race and gender into every aspect of public and private life.”
