Try as I might, I just can't get into the overwhelming majority of video games. Sorry, guys. I'm just not a big gamer. I wish I had the time, but I don't. Is Fortnite still a thing? Yeah, I still don't really know what it is and I don't want any part in it.

Too much is already on my plate and there are other things I would much rather be doing. But if you like it? Rock on.

Turns out I'm not the only one who would rather do anything else, as I was so kindly reminded after Redditor igobrimode asked the online community,

"What is something crazy popular that you have no interest in?"

"The trending page..."

"The trending page of Youtube. I literally only check my home page and subscriptions."

thequirkyquark

You're smart. Why delve deeper? You'll just regret it. The amount of awful crap on YouTube is astronomical.

"I always thought..."

"I always thought "influencer" was a bit of a joke, until I worked with grown adults who actually followed them, got inspired/informed/jealous of them, etc. Turns out they do genuinely influence people."

CaptainMikul

"From currently being..."

"From currently being in Las Vegas, I can confidently say Las Vegas.

Too many people totally unaware of their surroundings. You get a second-hand high just from walking down the street, and you can't spend more than 3 minutes in any casino without your eyes burning from the cloud of second-hand cigarette smoke. Also, I have never seen so much space dedicated to shopping malls, yet somehow there is literally nothing worth even stopping to look at in any of them unless you want to drop a couple of grand on an overpriced wallet."

Emerald_Flame

It seems like everyone I know has been to Vegas at least once and I can't stomach the idea of bothering to go.

"Two of my friends..."

"I am OVER tall cakes. This needs to stop! Two of my friends had cakes this year that were taller than they were wide, and each piece from the cake would collapse as it was cut. Instagram is ruining cake."

ComradeReindeer

This reminds me of burgers that are too tall and fall apart when you attempt to eat them. It's never very fun. (But doesn't stop me from eating them; I just love food, sorry.)

"I want to know..."

"Talking about work to people. Everyone is like "how is work going?" and I would rather talk about anything but work. I want to know what people are interested in and what they did or thought about when they were not working."

Tomignone

"I still haven't gotten it."

"Snapchat. I still haven't gotten it. What's wrong with texting?"

thedarkknightftw

Right? Another app I have no time or use for. And yet the creator is a billionaire, so joke's on me, I guess.

"I'm now surrounded..."

"Expensive hobbies. I'm now surrounded by friends and colleagues who sail, go on golf and ski trips, own boats, fly planes, but I grew up without being to afford much so all my hobbies are "free" things. Hiking and walking are some of my favorite activities. I've thought about picking up some new hobbies but it's hard for me to splurge because I'd rather save and do things that I enjoy and don't cost as much money."

rjoker103

"Have very little interest..."

"Watching video game streamers. Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge gamer, and I'll watch YouTube clips for tips, guides, reviews, etc. Have very little interest in watching somebody else play the game though. I'd rather experience it myself. Idk, maybe it's because I'm in my early 30s and I'm just a grumpy old man (in the gaming world). Ps- Stay off my damn lawn."

Fubar434

"I have nothing against..."

"Weed. I have nothing against people who smoke it. I know it's not the "terrible, life-destroying" drug my parents made it out to be. But, I just can't get over the smell. It's awful."

Indysteeler

That smell can be a lot for some people, so I get it.

"Watching people..."

"Watching people play video games on Twitch. Exactly why is that a thing?"

westside@sses

I guess I just have to face it: I'm either an old, grumpy fart or... just not the target audience for this stuff. Maybe both? Yeah, probably both. I'm okay with that.

Man Goes Viral After 3D-Printing A 6-Pound Phone Case To Combat Screen Addiction

Many Millennials will remember back in the nineties as the last of the "latchkey kids" who were prominently babysat by their televisions, and the commercials that rolled out, made popular on Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network, promoting kids to go play outside instead of watching TV all day.

Now in 2025, videos on Instagram and TikTok encouraging people to "pause their scroll" and to "put down their phones" are becoming more common and popular, because people are realizing how detrimental our increasing screen time is to our emotional, physical, and psychological health.

Woman Sparks Heated Debate After Encouraging People To Smile At Walmart Greeters

There's an old saying that goes, "It costs nothing to be kind."

Smiling at a stranger, saying hi back to a young and socialable child, holding a door for someone, and maybe even exchanging a pleasantry or two at the checkout line costs nothing more than a few words passing our lips and showing a little kindness.
