In many of their opinions, the money spent on backpacks would have been much better elsewhere.

The clear backpacks certainly seem like they might work better in theory than in practice.

These clear backpacks accomplish absolutely nothing. Not every item placed in the bag is visible and there is no possible way to monitor the contents of over 3000 backpacks. It’s great to know that this is where my community puts its resources.

It will certainly make certain standard school moments a bit more awkward...

At the end of the day, however, the issue foremost in the mind of Parkland students is still gun control.

They believe gun reform is the only real solution to gun violence.

So were the backpacks a good idea?
