Oliver Stone Gripes About Ryan Gosling Doing 'Sh*t' Like 'Barbie' In Bizarre Hot Take

The famed director called out Gosling and Keanu Reeves for contributing to the 'infantilization of Hollywood' in an interview with the UK publication 'City AM.'

Oliver Stone did not hold back his opinion of recent cinema while answering a lighthearted question in the form of a rant—and he especially had no issue spewing his criticism over Ryan Gosling starring in "sh*t" like Barbie.

During an interview with City AM, the famed director was jokingly asked if he would direct Barbie 2.

But Stone did not think it was funny, and he definitely did not approve of Gosling's involvement in the film.

He responded:

"Ridiculous."
“Ryan Gosling is wasting his time if he’s doing that sh*t for money."
"He should be doing more serious films. He shouldn’t be a part of this infantilization of Hollywood."

And he didn't stop there.

Stone took a two-for-one jab at the Fast and Furious and Marvel films as well.

"Now it’s all fantasy, fantasy, fantasy, including all the war pictures: fantasy, fantasy. Even the Fast and Furious movies, which I used to enjoy, have become like Marvel movies. I mean, how many crashes can you see?”

People on social media also had their opinions.

Many felt that Stone completely missed the mark on both Gosling and Barbie.

And others expressed that audiences enjoy fantasy films, noting that not all movies need to be "serious."

There were a few, however, that agreed there is a shortage of "real" cinema in Hollywood.

At least Gosling was amongst good company on Stone's short list of disappointments.

The director also bashed Keanu Reeve's John Wick: Chapter 4.

“Oh yeah, so on the plane I watched 'John Wick', which is three hours and some. And I fell asleep about 778 times during it."
“I kept waking up and having to face him killing more people. It’s like the world has degenerated into non-logic.”

There was one person, however, that Stone refused to criticize: Vladimir Putin.

“I don’t want to get into that, because it’s not important and it would take over the other issues."

Trump Gets U.S. Military Troops To Boo Democrats And 'Fake News' During Alarming Speech

Members of the military stationed at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, erupted in boos when President Donald Trump goaded them during a speech in which he attacked former President Joe Biden, California Governor Gavin Newsom, Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass, and the "fake news" covering the ongoing protests in L.A. in response to the Trump administration's immigration raids.

The military has a longstanding tradition of remaining nonpartisan so it was striking that those in attendance, many of whom wore military fatigues, booed in the first place.
