Brittany Velasquez, Mother Facing 2 Counts of Murder Charges: What We Know

Brittany Velasquez, 20, is facing two counts of murder after her 2-year-old son and 10-month-old daughter were found dead in a car outside the family's Arizona home on Monday night, according to ABC News 15. 

Police from the Pinal County Sheriff's Office were called to the house around 11:15 pm. Both children were strapped in their car seats when detectives arrived.


Pinal County Sheriff spokeswoman Navideh Forghani said in a statement that the scene suggested evidence of foul play. An official cause of death has not been announced.

According to reports by Fox 10 Phoenix, Velasquez's relatives say she was mentally unstable and had called the Department of Child Services in the past to report that "her babies are in danger."

Velasquez's Facebook page boasts many pictures of her two children.

She Created a GoFundMe Page for Her Husband Christopher After His Death

On June 17, 2017, Brittany created a GoFundMe page after the death of her husband. She writes, "On June 16, 2017 , my husband Christopher Mathew Miranda was called to heaven. He left behind his wife, an 8 year old daughter, 1 1/2 year old son and a 2 week old baby girl... He was loved by many and this is very devastating to us all. Please any donations will be appreciated by his family and children. He will be dearly missed. Rest In Peace my love."

Velasquez was able to raise $425 of a $5,000 goal.

According to his obituary, Christopher was 26 when he passed away in Mesa, Arizona. His Facebook page has been memorialized.
