Lizzo was on hand for Outloud’s LGBTQIA+ Pride festival in West Hollywood Park, and she gave a shoutout to trans people before launching into an emotional rendition of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow."

Lizzo kicked off Pride month with a powerful tribute to the trans community at Outloud’s LGBTQIA+ Pride Festival in West Hollywood Park. The festival took place last weekend and featured Kim Petras, Horse Meat Disco, Remi Wolf, Honey Dijon, Maren Morris, Paris Hilton, and Lizzo herself, who took the stage on Saturday.

The 37-year-old singer posted the emotional performance on Instagram as she highlighted the struggles of Black trans women and trans women of color. According to The Advocate in 2023, Black transgender women face a disproportionate amount of violence, with a high concentration of homicides in specific states, including Louisiana, Texas, Florida, and Maryland.

Wearing her fashion brand Yitty black top and denim shorts, Lizzo told the audience:

“This is dedicated to you, and more importantly, the Black trans women who, without their fight, we would not be able to celebrate today. And we still in some sh*t, right?"
"But hopefully one day, beyond this motherf*cking rainbow, b*tch, we will see a place where we no longer have to fight to exist. This is for you.”

Launched in 2022, Lizzo’s Yitty fabletics line is an inclusive, gender-affirming collection featuring shapewear, intimates, binding tops, and tucking thongs that come in sizes ranging from 6X to XS.

In the Instagram caption, Lizzo wrote:

“Happy Pride to the beautiful LGBTQIA+ community. As this month begins let us remember there would be no pride without the black trans women & trans women of color who fought against the systems that tried to erase them."
"In honor of that fight we have to continue to take a stand against that very same system that threatens our rights to bodily autonomy and liberation. We ain’t free till we all free. I love you.”

Lizzo dedicated her own rendition of “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” to the audience before playing the melody on her iconic flute.

Her tribute concluded with her next song, “Good as Hell,” as she performed for thousands of fans at the event. Before her tribute, Lizzo played an electric guitar and sang fan favorites “About Damn Time” and “Truth Hurts.”

The Outloud Musical festival also included DJ sets and drag presenters, with Paula Abdul making a surprise appearance during Honey Dijon’s set.

Fans loved everything about her performance and her post.

Little Girl Hilariously Figures Out How To Get Around Mom's 'No Bad Words' Rule—And We Gotta Respect It

We've all heard the advice that when you want to start a new habit, you have to give yourself time for that habit to "stick," and you also shouldn't try to take on too many new habits at once.

While the easy answer to that logic is that it would be too much change at once and too much "new" to remember, it also could take the fun out of the new practice.

Giant AI-Generated Christmas Mural Removed After People Notice Some Truly Unhinged Details

Though many of us are worried about the prevalence of AI and its potential to take away the jobs of professional writers, artists, and designers, one truly haunted Christmas mural proves that AI is not ready to take on the responsibility just yet.

Ample theories are available for how this unhinged mural came to be, but a favorite is that an upper executive didn't want to approve an art budget for this year's mural and suggested AI instead, so a designer planned the worst option possible. Or someone turned immediately to AI, barely checked their work, and just hit the "approve" button.

Brooke Shields Has Hilarious Reaction After She's Given Awkwardly Short Chair On 'Today' Show

People who have not performed in front of a live audience might assume that adequate rehearsal time and production planning ensure things will go smoothly.

But seasoned performers will tell you that mistakes happen, no matter how well-rehearsed or fine-tuned the project is. When the mistake is obvious enough that the audience becomes aware of it, the best thing to do is laugh it off or incorporate the mistake into the program as much as possible to keep the show going.
