Have you ever been pressured into trying something... and it wasn't disappointing?

I've always heard about French press coffee and couldn't imagine why it would be any different from a traditional coffee pot.

But then I bought one from Ikea. Oh. My. God. The flavor is richer, it's easier to use, no more coffee filters... I can go on and on about the benefits of a French press, and urge any coffee drinker to buy one!

Redditor LeftWhale2 got people talking about things that amazed them by asking,

"What actually 100% lived up to the hype?"

Street view changed my life

"First time I loaded up Google Earth on a tablet I knew I had officially reached 'living in the future' status."

Tough but worth it

"Being healthy. It feels so good to feel good. I thought I would hate cutting out soda and junk food because they taste so good and made me happy. But I was so heavy, knee pain, couldn't sleep, miserable most of the time. Now it's normal to just feel good. It's actually crazy to think I lived like that for so long. It's worth it to put the effort into your health. Who cares if it takes a long time. You'll thank yourself."

If Galileo could see how far we've come...

"Both Hubble and Kepler space telescopes. Deep field images showing thousands of galaxies in just a tiny patch of sky and the discovery of thousands of exoplanets that are so different from planets in our own solar system. What better could astronomers hope to find up there?"

Having roommates was rough

"Having your own place to live without roommates."

"I live alone, and I gotta say..."

"It's awesome, but without any incentive to clean or organize things get messy quick!"

I'm already convinced that it's delicious

"Neighbor's chili. Moved in and everybody wouldn't shut up about this guy's chili. To the point it was annoying to hear about. The first cold day that fall I had it. Now I won't shut up about it."

Lima is on my bucket list

"Visiting Machu Picchu and other Inca ruins. It was amazing. They don't tell you that there are just random llamas grazing on these ancient stone terraces. Or that there are huge blue butterflies everywhere. Or about the tourist city that has sprung up around the ruins of Machu Picchu. Or about how crazy the city of Lima is."

Taman_Should

I'm glad this wasn't a bad experience for them

"Divorcing a terrible person."

"The sense of relief, freedom and having my old self back again cannot be expressed in words."

"I would marry her all over again and divorce her just to experience that feeling again"

I have this and can confirm

"Squatty Potty. Let that hate flow right out of you."

"Oh god yes, first I thought it was a bit daft, but an awesome advert. Then tried one."

"WE HUMANS POO SO WRONG!!"

"Every toilet should have one as standard. IT has improved my heath massively."

There was so much doubt about smart phones

"Smart devices, but especially smartphones. I remember watching the keynote in 2007 and thinking this was just an Apple gimmick. Twelve years later and theres no way I'd willingly go back to not having my smartphone; I wouldn't be typing this right now."

ChunkySoup93

Is this the same Manhattan I know?

"My very first trip to Manhattan."

"My sister and I booked a 10 day stay at The Roosevelt in Midtown. We land at LaGuardia from Dallas and the airport employees were super friendly when they saw me in my UT Dallas hoodie; I even got a hug! Like, what?! So we go out of the terminal and the car service to Manhattan calls us to let us know they overbooked and ran out of sedans and SUVs....so they sent a stretch limo to pick us up!"

"The trip was full of lucky turns. We got very last minute front and center seats to the Radio City Rockettes for $60 each!"

"The city just lived up to every expectation I had since childhood. I love it"

Teacher Stunned After Student Argues That People Shouldn't Have To 'Think Anymore' Thanks To ChatGPT

There's no doubt that ChatGPT and similar tools are growing in relevance and application, and they're growing fast. The problem is that many people, especially younger individuals, seem to struggle with how much they should depend on the tools.

We already knew that ChatGPT could be a problem regarding critical thinking and creativity, so maybe we should have anticipated the mindsets that would develop, snubbing independent thinking when tools like ChatGPT are available.

Disney princesses are usually known for their whimsical singing and befriending creatures from all across the animal kingdom, but Princess Rapunzel at Tokyo DisneySea may have misunderstood the assignment.

Bald Men Are Up In Arms Over Viral Chart That Predicts Political Affiliation Based On A Man's Haircut

Can a man's haircut tell you his political affiliation? Scientifically, of course not... but we probably all have a gut feeling about it, regardless!

And a TikToker has followed that lead by developing a chart that predicts a man's political persuasion based on his hair alone—and bald men are NOT happy about it.

Republicans Slammed For Soulless One-Word Response To Democrats' Trans Day Of Visibility Tweet

According to research by the Williams Institute at UCLA School of Law, transgender people in the United States were over four times more likely than cisgender people to be victims of violent crime based on statistics from 2017-2018. A study by the non-profit Everytown for Gun Safety found the number of trans people murdered in the U.S. nearly doubled between 2017and 2021.

In the last 5–9 years, those figures have only increased as the Republican Party has made trans people the target of many of their political campaigns and legislative actions.
