On November 24, after the Grammys announced their 2021 nominations, The Killers responded to their new album's snub.

How?

They decided to tap into current affairs by making fun of Donald Trump's refusal to concede the 2020 election in the best way possible:

an unhinged Twitter tirade.

The Killers' sixth album, Imploding the Mirage, has been well-reviewed by critics, but that sadly didn't result in a Grammy nomination.

Twitter found The Killers dig at Donald Trump absolutely hilarious.

Many Twitter users quickly played along with the joke.

The Killers have spoken out against Donald Trump and the danger of his administration in the past, even going so far as to release a protest song, "Land of the Free."

THE KILLERS SHOULD HAVE BEEN NOMINATED FOR EVERY GRAMMY—THE VOTES WERE CLEARLY RIGGED!

Has this always been the fate of Donald Trump—to spend his last days in office getting dunked on by The Killers via Twitter?

Maybe, but even if it isn't, it's certainly an entertaining turn of events.
