Josh Hawley Dragged For Using Amazon To Sell His Book About The 'Tyranny' Of Big Tech

Missouri's Republican Senator Josh Hawley's new book The Tyranny of Big Tech seemed like it might never see the light of day after the book's original publisher, Simon & Schuster, canceled its plans to publish it earlier this year.

Simon & Schuster decided to cut ties with Hawley after it was revealed he helped to instigate the January 6 attack on the Capitol. Hawley was even photographed raising a fist in solidarity with the mob—who would go on to storm the Capitol—before the riot began.

Hawley announced via Twitter on Monday that "corporate media" don't want you to read his book, but you can order it from Amazon.

"The corporate media and the woke mob don't want you to read this book."
"They tried to cancel it. They failed."
"One week until publication—order here."

While Simon & Schuster may have chosen to cancel their publishing contract with Hawley, the publishing company that eventually did agree to distribute the book is also part of the publishing giant—Regnery Publishing.

The hypocrisy of selling a book about big tech's tyrannical tendencies through one of the biggest tech companies and announcing it on another big tech platform wasn't lost on Twitter users.

They quickly began to roast Hawley in the replies to his tweet.

Several people referenced the RNC buying copies of Donald Trump Jr.'s book Triggered in 2019 to artificially inflate sales numbers.

Meanwhile, some just chose to laugh derisively at Hawley himself instead.

More than 400 people have been charged for crimes related to the insurrection but the politicians who helped to foment the unrest, including Hawley, are not yet among them.

Earlier this week, Trump announced new tariffs: 10% on softwood timber and lumber, and 25% on “certain upholstered wooden products,” set to take effect October 14. The move follows Trump’s announcement last week of additional tariffs on kitchen cabinets, vanities, and other upholstered products, which will take effect October 1.
