MTG's Bizarre 'Accountability Coming' Post Hilariously Backfires

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene was roasted after posting a pic of her at home with a caption pledging that 'accountability coming.'

Georgia Republican Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene found one of her X posts garnering attention, but not for the reason she intended.

On Sunday, Greene posted a photo of dinner with wine for two on the edge of a patio firepit by a backyard pool.

But it wasn’t the poolside dining with an unidentified companion that drew people's interest—it was Greene's caption.

MTG wrote:

"Home is where I reset."
"Going back to work tomorrow."
"Accountability coming."

While congressional accountability would be welcome, it isn't something people associate with a QAnon conspiracy theory peddling Republican Representative repeatedly implicated in the January 6, 2021 insurrection.

And they let Greene know.

Some referred to Greene's previous congressional acts.

Some even commented on her meal.

Greene is currently serving her second term for Georgia congressional district 14.

Her first term was marked by censure by her own party for antisemitic comments and spreading QAnon conspiracy theories. Then House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy removed Greene from all committee assignments after repeated incidents.

In her second term, days after Democratic President Joe Biden's inauguration, Greene filed articles of impeachment alleging abuse of power. She recently filed a request for censure against Michigan Palestinian American Democratic Representative Rashida Tlaib, but the GOP controlled House failed to support Greene's retaliatory efforts.

Greene now spars with her own party almost as often as she incites disputes with Democrats.

In June 2023, the far-right Representative was expelled from the conservative House Freedom Caucus over comments she made about Colorado GOP Representative Lauren Boebert as part of an ongoing conflict.

At the end of October, Vermont Democratic Representative Becca Balint filed a motion to again censure Greene citing her "record of antisemitic, anti-LGBTQ, xenophobic and racist rhetoric and conspiracy theories..." and her "vile and hateful behavior."
