After Minnesota Governor Tim Walz shared a post backing the "No Kings" protests over the weekend, Republicans lashed out with a tweet that had more than homophobic undertones.
Last October, massive crowds flooded streets across the country on for “No Kings” protests denouncing Trump’s policies, with major demonstrations in New York, Washington, D.C., Chicago, Miami, and Los Angeles. Organizers said the demonstrations—which drew nearly seven million participants nationwide—remained overwhelmingly peaceful.
The latest round of protests have eclipsed those; organizers said more than 8 million people attended to protest against the Trump administration as anger grows toward the affordability crisis, the Iran war, the immigration crackdown, and the Epstein files scandal.
On Saturday, Walz tweeted a simple "No kings" message to express solidarity with protesters.
In response, the official GOP account shared a photo of Walz—who was former Vice President Kamala Harris' running mate—on the 2024 campaign trail and tweeted "No Queens," using a term used to mock gay men, especially those perceived as effeminate or flamboyant.
You can see the post below.
People were quick to call out the party considering President Donald Trump—who wears makeup—is implicated in the Epstein files scandal.
While the GOP definitely has an issue with "queens," it doesn't appear to have any issue with "kings" considering the lack of pushback against Trump for mocking demonstrators.
Trump was criticized last year after he took to Truth Social to share a bizarre AI-generated video of himself dumping poop on crowds of demonstrators from a fighter jet.
The video depicts Trump wearing a crown and flying a fighter jet emblazoned with the words “King Trump.” Set to Kenny Loggins’ “Danger Zone,” the doctored clip shows him releasing a massive load of feces onto protesters gathered in New York City’s Times Square.
In response to the latest demonstrations, which took place in nearly every major U.S. city, a White House spokesperson called them "Trump Derangement Therapy Sessions" and said the only people who care "are the reporters who are paid to cover them."
