GOP Senator Blasted After Claiming 'Woke Left' Is 'Greatest Danger We've Ever Faced'

Clearly confused over the meaning of the word, Florida Republican Senator Rick Scott announced to a crowd of conservative listeners at the Heritage Foundation in Washington D.C. on Thursday that he is not "woke."

While it is news to no one the GOP Senator is in no way woke, his weird brag is nothing to be proud of as a public servant. In a chaotic rant about how the left is destroying the country, Scott acted like progressive ideals are more catastrophic than actual wars.

He said:

“We survived the War of 1812, World War I, World War II, Korea, Vietnam and the Cold War."
"But now today we face the greatest danger we’ve ever faced."
"The militant left wing in our country has become the enemy within.”

His statement hit the ground running on Twitter.

One person asked:

"Hey ⁦[Senator Rick Scott⁩] have you even read the definition of Woke?"
"'[A]lert to injustice in society, especially racism.' This is it moron!"
"[K]eep thinking it’s a put down, IT’S NOT!"
"So Florida Sen says he’s glad he is still FOR Racism and injustice!"

Others say the real danger lies in the Republican party, evidenced by the violence that ensued at the Capitol on January 6 of last year.

One tweeted:

"Sen. Rick Scott Says The ‘Woke Left’ Is The ‘Greatest Danger’ America Has Ever Faced ... Next to a group of Seditionist that tried to overthrow the government resulting in deaths."
"Wokeness even under your appropriation has not killed anyone. Party of killers!"

In a politically ironic twist, the GOP Senator included in his plan to "rescue" the country, released February, a tax agenda that will actually raise income taxes on a significant portion of the country's population.

Garnering little to no material support from either the left or the right, even Republican Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky denounced the plan.

McConnell said:

"We will not have as part of our agenda a bill that raises taxes on half the American people and sunsets Social Security and Medicare within five years.”

One person commented:

"Rick Scott’s tax plan 'would increase taxes by more than $1,000 on average for the poorest 40 percent of Americans.' ...the states hit hardest would largely be red states in the South ― as well as Scott’s own state of FL."

But White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki corrected McConnell and tweeted:

"Actually, the biggest tax hike of the century would be the Senate GOP plan, which would be around $100 billion in 2022 alone."
"And while [progressives] would only make multi-millionaires & billionaires pay their fair share, your agenda from Sen. Rick Scott would slam half of all Americans."

If you want to talk about danger, many feel Scott's tax plan certainly fits into that category.

The Senator apparently has an uphill battle on both side of the political spectrum with his plan.

Trump Dragged After Making Ridiculous Claim About Randomly Finding Billions On The 'Tariff Shelf'

President Donald Trump was criticized after he claimed to reporters this week that officials in his administration suddenly found $30 billion they "never knew existed"—located on what Trump referred to as the "tariff shelf."

Tariffs are a tax on imported goods, usually calculated as a percentage of the purchase price. While tariffs can shield domestic manufacturers by making foreign products more expensive, they are also used as a tool to penalize countries engaged in unfair trade practices, such as government subsidies or dumping goods below market value.

Bride's Friends Surprise Her With Montage Video Of All Her Exes At Bachelorette Party—And People Are Mortified

While Jenny Han's novel To All the Boys I've Loved Before was a major hit, and even became a great film success in 2018, not everyone's married to the idea of reconnecting with their exes after the relationships end.

It might be nice to imagine staying friends after the relationships, imagining our exes missing us or regretting losing us, or even giving us an apology for the things they did wrong. But most of us pine for this for a little while, realize it's all a fairy tale, and push past it to better things and new love.
