After a Redditor shared a photo of Toccoa Riverside Restaurant's menu, including a surcharge 'for adults unable to parent,' parents shared their bad experiences with the restaurant.

A restaurant in Blue Ridge, Georgia has gone viral due to an interesting surcharge on their menu.

Toccoa Riverside Restaurant boasts:

“Fresh trout, wonderful steaks, fried oysters, and a terrific selection of salads and sides make this a long-standing tradition in the mountains of north Georgia.”
“Our Pooch Patio and River Rest areas are dog friendly! Paddle a canoe down the river and plan your lunch or dinner stop with us.”

And while the restaurant sounds picturesque and inviting, dogs are the only small creatures they’re friendly towards.

While Toccoa has a kids menu, it also boasts an “adult surcharge” described as:

“For adults unable to parent”

Redditor LPineapplePizzaLover posted about the restaurant on the “mildly interesting” subReddit, stating:

“This restaurant charges you extra for bad parenting”

Redditors had quite a bit to say about the restaurant and their menu:

“That formatting is painful.” - 0MEGAP0RK
“but...there's no actual amount listed.” - dysfunctionalpress
“‘sillybeans’” - Deathwatch30
“Extra charge for not using cash? 20% for separate checks and using the birthday menu? Yeah f*ck this place” - NowieTends
Passive-aggressive declarations where they really don't belong always trigger a bit of sympathetic embarrassment for me.”
“Actual adults running a business decided to write this insipid sh*t on something they are going to hand to everyone who walks in the door. Amazing.” - Haulie
The number of red flags on this menu, I'd just go ahead and say no thanks.”
“I mean, the parenting thing is one bit, but if they can't get their sh*t together enough to deal with setting a price that deals with their credit card fees, and their solution is to show the cheap price and add a surcharge?”
“If that's the case, I don't have a lot of faith in the quality of their supply lines, or in the rigor of their kitchen safety procedures.” - XenoRyet

Redditor PowerUpPump took the liberty of finding specific reviews from actual patrons:

“Who reads this garbage and doesn't immediately think the restaurant is trash?”
“From another comment: Google the restaurant name, it's listed in the wifi section on the bottom on OPs picture. Here are some of the reviews:”
“1.”
“The owner came out and told me he was adding $50 to my bill because of my children’s behavior."
"My kids watched a tablet until the food arrived, ate their food and my wife took them outside while I waited and paid the bill.”
“Pretty sure the owner is doing drugs in the back. Disappointed by the experience.”
“2.”
“If you have children, absolutely avoid this place at all costs."
"Holy moly - the most disrespectful owner made a huge scene in front of the entire restaurant because our children were ‘running through the restaurant’ - they were down by the river..”
“we were told we need to ‘go to Burger King and Walmart’ and that we were bad parents. They have a $50 surcharge for ‘bad children’.”
“We were a group of 21 and our server was AMAZING and was overly apologetic. Terrible business practice, we will never be back.”
“3.”
“Don’t go if you have children. We were 3 adults, 2 children and our 4mo baby and since we entered to the place they gave us a bad look.”
“Later my wife was rocking the baby (not crying, just to make him sleep) and this ‘manager’ told her that you don’t do that in a fancy restaurant (of course this is not a fancy restaurant) and later moved our stroller in a bad way.”
“Food is not good either. Do yourself a favor a go somewhere else.”
“It's kind of insane/funny that the dude actually charges people for that.”

Looks like this surcharge may cost them some customers.

Trump Bizarrely Clashes With Reporter Over Photoshopped 'Tattoo' On Abrego Garcia's Knuckles

President Donald Trump sparked criticism after claiming during an interview with ABC News’ Terry Moran that an edited photo depicting tattoos of wrongly-deported Maryland father Kilmar Abrego Garcia showed that he has an alleged connection to the MS-13 gang.

Abrego Garcia, a Salvadoran national who arrived in the U.S. in 2012, was labeled a threat in 2019 due to an alleged connection to MS-13. He spent months in detention before an immigration judge found he had a credible fear of persecution—not from MS-13, but from a rival group, Barrio 18, which he said had been extorting his family.

Leavitt Lashes Out At Amazon Over 'Hostile' Plan To Display Added Tariff Costs For Products On Website

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt lashed out at Amazon over news that the commerce giant planned to display increased "import charges" on items on their Amazon Haul website, essentially showing to customers the extra money they'd have to shell out as a result of President Donald Trump's tariffs.

Trump has escalated a growing trade war by imposing tariffs of up to 145% on Chinese imports, prompting China to retaliate with its own 125% tariffs on American goods. Additionally, the U.S. has slapped a 10% tax on imports from most other countries, while temporarily suspending higher rates for several nations for 90 days.
