The singer/songwriter is being sued by the family of Ed Townsend, who collaborated with Marvin Gaye on 'Let's Get It On,' for allegedly copying the song with his hit 'Thinking Out Loud.'

Ed Sheeran said he is going to stop making music if he is found guilty of ripping off Marvin Gaye's "Let's Get It On," according to the Daily Mail.

Sheeran was sued by the family of Ed Townsend, who collaborated with Gaye on the song, over similarities to Sheeran's song "Thinking Out Loud."

Sheeran denies the claims.

The singer insisted if the jury finds that is not the case, he's "done."

"If that happens, I'm done, I'm stopping."
"I find it really insulting to devote my whole life to being a performer and a songwriter and have someone diminish it."

People on Twitter certainly hope that is not the case.

However, many are split on the basis of the claim.

Some stated they found no similarities between the two songs.

While others are certain Sheeran copied the 1973 hit.

Townsend's family is seeking $100 million in the lawsuit.

If found guilty, a second trial would be needed to determine the appropriate damage amount.

And the world might never hear another Sheeran song.

Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche is facing heavy criticism after claiming that Americans "want their tax dollars spent on things like" President Trump's $1.8 billion slush fund that may go to his allies and those who participated in the January 6 insurrection.

The Justice Department said last week it was creating the fund as part of a deal in which Trump agreed to drop his $10 billion lawsuit against the IRS. But despite a press release, memo, and a newly-released settlement agreement, many details about the program remain unclear.
