Trump Just Said Wearing a Mask Makes Him Look 'Like the Lone Ranger' and Everyone's Making the Same Joke

Trump Just Said Wearing a Mask Makes Him Look 'Like the Lone Ranger' and Everyone's Making the Same Joke

The Centers for Disease Control urges Americans to wear masks or some sort of facial covering in order to prevent the spread of the highly contagious virus that's disrupted every facet of daily life in the United States.

President Donald Trump announced these guidelines in early April, but with the caveat that he didn't intend to wear one himself. Sure enough, the President refuses to wear a mask publicly, asserting that the press would report it as weakness.

But with record high spikes in new cases across the country, the President is softening his stance, assuring he's "all for masks," though he's met criticism for dismissing their effectiveness to the point that Republicans are less likely to follow the CDC's mask guidelines.

Though he doesn't wear a mask in public, Trump assured Fox Business Network's Blake Burman that he wears one when social distancing isn't possible in large groups—then the conversation turned to his looks.

Trump said:

"I had a mask on. I sort of liked the way I looked. I thought it was okay. It was a dark, black mask and I thought it looked okay. It looked like the Lone Ranger."

The President compared himself to the Lone Ranger, the Western ranger of the 20th century.

But unlike facial coverings recommended by the CDC, which are worn over the nose and mouth, the Lone Ranger's mask was worn over his eyes.

People couldn't help but mock the President.

They also commented on Trump's change in tone regarding masks.

Texas MAGA Republican Senator Rafael "Ted" Cruz raised eyebrows when he attacked Georgia QAnon/MAGA Republican Representative and conspiracy theorist Marjorie Taylor Greene (MTG) for being antisemitic.

MTG has promoted some antisemitic conspiracy theories in the past, like Jewish space lasers that control the weather or start wildfires, but this time people are calling Cruz out for reaching in an attempt to discredit the Georgia Republican and protect Trump from what's being concealed in FBI, Department of Justice, and court records relating to the indictment of Jeffrey Epstein on charges of sex trafficking of minors.
