A TikTok user shared their encounter with a transphobic cashier at Dollar General and how she reacted to the situation.

The video was posted by Camille whose account @mortuaryschool101 shares her experience with mortuary school. However, she sometimes shares other little bits and pieces from her life.

In this case, it was a confrontation with a cashier and fellow customer who used a transphobic comment to try and make light of vaccinations.

Camille captioned the video:

"The Dollar General cashier & customer were making the loudest rudest comments about LGBTQ+ & I just couldn't.."

The video starts after the comment was made. What was allegedly said was that if people can be trans, the cashier wants to identify as vaccinated.

Camille confronts the transphobic comment by saying:

"You do need to be educated because what you said was very ignorant."

After that, the confrontation went off. Camille informed the cashier that she shouldn't make that kind of joke because of how it can hurt others.

Camille then tried to get the cashier to repeat the comment. The cashier tried to backpedal.

She claimed she actually said:

"If a girl can identify as a boy, I can identify how I want."

An assistant manager tried to claim they were very welcoming there, but the cashier and another employee kept arguing with the TikTokker.

The conversation continues with Camille pointing out how rude the comment that the cashier made was. Another customer kept trying to defend the cashier, by saying she was talking to the customer.

But as Camille pointed out:

"Did she say it out loud in a public store?"

The answer being, yes, where everyone could hear it.

When you say something rude and hurtful, don't be surprised when people treat you like you said something rude and hurtful.

The assistant manager tried to downplay the situation claiming that the cashier must have just said it wrong, and that they should all calm down and move on with their day.

Camille continued to call out the bigotry and explain how rude the comment was.

The customer who kept butting in also tried to insult Camille by calling her a "Biden supporter."

The conversation with the assistant manager continued when the video cuts off. Camille said in the comments that she's contacting the corporate office to see about sending the video to someone higher up at the company.

Despite the debate, she does remind people to be kind, but continue speaking up.
