The legendary singer was on hand for Beyoncé's 42nd birthday during her 'Renaissance World Tour' stop in Inglewood, California.

For those of us who enjoy birthdays, one of the most touching things might be setting a moment aside to sing a sentimental "Happy Birthday."

But when a huge singing sensation like Diana Ross sings "Happy Birthday" to you, that's got to be next-level times ten. At least.

That's surely how Beyoncé was feeling during her Renaissance World Tour show in Inglewood, California.

Despite her own status, Beyoncé has made countless references to growing up listening to Diana Ross and admiring her throughout her most formative years as a woman, performer, and singer.

While performing in SoFi Stadium, Beyoncé was joined on stage by Diana Ross, who took over by performing her 1975 hit, "Love Hangover." As the song came to a close, Ross led the audience in singing "Happy Birthday."

You can watch the video here:

Beyoncé looked visibly touched by the gesture as she smiled and held Ross's hand before bouncing happily on stage and going in for a hug.

The singer then thanked Ross for singing to her:

"Thank you so much. You are so amazing."

After turning back to the audience, Beyoncé said:

"This is the legendary Diana Ross!”

Ross also confided that she wanted to "return the favor" after Beyoncé serenaded her for her 75th birthday back in 2019. Beyoncé turned 42 back on September 4 of this year.

Fans of Beyoncé and Diana Ross were equally touched by the gesture and the opportunity to see the two singers on stage together.

The night of the performance also showed how fulfilling Beyoncé's life is—always special to hear on someone's birthday.

"My heart is full. My soul is full. I’m so thankful... I’m going to try not to cry."
"I’m thankful to be alive. I’m thankful to be on the stage. I’m thankful to look out and see your faces.”

It's always wonderful to acknowledge someone you love on their birthday and to celebrate their special day in a way that is truly meaningful to them. For Beyoncé and Diana Ross, singing is obviously a top-tier celebration tactic!

Here's to many more birthdays for both Diana Ross and Beyoncé, and many more opportunities to serenade them.
