Really?

Congressman Devin Nunes (R-CA), Co-Chair of the House Intelligence Committee, thinks that Stephen Colbert's jokes at his expense are a danger for America. Nunes doesn't seem to be a fan of free speech or a free press.

During an interview with Senator Mark Warner (D-VA) and Congressman Adam Schiff (D-CA), who co-chairs the House Intelligence committee with Nunes, Colbert asked Warner if he was "jealous" that Schiff got to have Nunes as his work partner.

Watch Colbert's segment below:

Nunes expressed his displeasure with Colbert after the comedian and talk show host presented a fake memo stating "Devin Nunes is a [redacted]."

Watch the clip of Nunes warning the world about the dangers of comedy below:

"This is the danger that we have in this country," Nunes told Neil Cavuto of Fox News. "The left controls not only the universities in this country, but they also control Hollywood in this country, and the mainstream media, so conservatives in this country are under attack ... they attack people who are trying to get to the truth."

Seriously.

Twitter users fired back at Nunes, appropriately pointing out what being attacked really involves.

Nunes has also come under fire for his handling of the Congressional side of the Russia investigation, which has seriously harmed his credibility.

Using his own words about "truth seeking" against, him, Eleventh on Twitter reminded Nunes that "people seeking the truth always get attacked but we keep going. We don't go cry to Fox News."

There is a really rich irony in attacking free speech and the free press, claiming they are a danger to freedom.

Nunes isn't the only conservative getting all hot and bothered by satire at his expense, however.

As Karen DaltonBeninato pointed out, "comedy is getting to this administration more than the system of checks and balances that should have kicked in by now."

On Friday while supposedly presidenting at six in the morning, President Donald Trump issued a nasty tweet about Alec Baldwin, who portrays Trump on Saturday Night Live.

"Alec Baldwin, whose dying mediocre career was saved by his terrible impersonation of me on SNL, now says playing me was agony," Trump whined. "Alec, it was agony for those who were forced to watch. Bring back Darrell Hammond, funnier and a far greater talent!"

Of course, Twitter wasn't going to allow Trump to get away with this.
