“#throwback 1979? I’ve been doing a massive amount of decluttering around the house, going through old memorabilia… and stumbled upon a bunch of these negatives.”
Among the finds were two never-before-seen shots of Bertinelli at 19, posing in black lingerie and strappy high heels while straddling a chair. Now 66, she estimated the photos were taken in 1979, four years after she began starring as quick-witted teenager Barbara Cooper on One Day at a Time.
Bertinelli admitted the negatives had long slipped her mind:
“I had totally forgotten that I had them, which is why we probably haven’t seen them in print anywhere. Now I don’t know what to do with them. But I have an idea…”
That idea involved her brother, David Bertinelli… and the timing couldn’t have been better.
The siblings have teamed up for Undeveloped - Stories from the Vault, a new project exploring Bertinelli’s history through never-before-seen photographs taken by David. It premiered the same day she shared the negatives and is available through Valerie’s Place, the digital platform she launched in 2026.
Still undecided, Bertinelli asked fans to weigh in:
“Maybe I should get him to do something with them. Or not? Toss or save?”
The verdict came quickly. More than 600 comments piled up within 24 hours, with fans overwhelmingly voting to save them.

One suggestion appeared to catch Bertinelli’s attention, earning a “like” from the actress.
The commenter proposed:
“[M]ake a little scrapbook with all of the photos you want. Maybe like this particular one…. So whenever you are feeling nostalgic, you can take it out.”
Others argued the photos were worth keeping for more than nostalgia. One fan insisted they were “part of your history [and] legacy,” while another pointed to Bertinelli’s previous struggles with body image, writing, “Looking at this, I ask why???... You were, and always will be HOT.”
The comments section had plenty more to say about whether Bertinelli should save the throwback shots:

Bertinelli has spent most of her life in front of the camera. The Golden Globe-winning actress broke through at age 15 on One Day at a Time, which aired on CBS from 1975 to 1984. She later appeared in Touched by an Angel and Hot in Cleveland and won two Daytime Emmy Awards for her work as a Food Network host.
In 2024, Bertinelli joined The Drew Barrymore Show as a lifestyle expert before launching her own digital platform, Valerie’s Place, in 2026.
She’s also revisiting another chapter of her career with the podcast Still Hot in Cleveland, which looks back at the TV Land sitcom she starred in alongside Jane Leeves, Wendie Malick, and the late Betty White.
In a recent interview with People, Bertinelli described revisiting the series as bittersweet, believing Hot in Cleveland still had more stories to tell.
Bertinelli made it clear she wasn’t ready for the sitcom era to end:
“I’m still more than grateful for the experience, and I’m still pi**ed off for canceling us a year too early in my mind.”
Decades later, Bertinelli is still revisiting pieces of a career that began when she was a teenager, sometimes in ways even she didn’t expect. Whether those long-forgotten negatives earn a permanent place in the collection is now up to her.
After finding out Trump's promise of mass deportations included people like his fiancée, who were following the proper legal process and attending all of their court dates, Gannon said he wouldn't vote for Trump again.
CBS News' Camilo Montoya-Galvez told Gannon:
"The administration publicly says that they're going after the worst of the worst, hardened criminals, gang members, rapist, murderers."
Gannon responded:
"That's not true. They've had a 30% decline in criminals and they've had a 300% increase in law-abiding citizens. It's just easy soft pickings. And for that reason, I'm thinking there's a bonus, some kind of quota, whatever. They're picking up 30 to 40 people out of our airport here in Houston a day who are not criminals."

Gannon confirmed Suarez Reyes—like the vast majority of people being abducted, detained, and deported by ICE—had no criminal record. Suarez Reyes was arrested by ICE at Houston's international airport in late July and taken to the Montgomery Processing Center in Conroe, Texas, without a court hearing.
Later, Montoya-Galvez noted:
"You underscored, John, that you voted for the President in the most recent election, I assume."
Gannon, a lifelong Republican, replied:
"Yeah, I wouldn't do that again. Not after this fiasco. This is like the Gestapo. I would never have thought the United States would act this way."
CBS News' Montoya-Galvez asked the Texan:
"And that was going to be my question. Do you regret that vote?"
Without hesitation, Gannon responded:
"I do now. Yes, sir. I don't know what's happened to him. I think he's hit with a little dementia or something."
Montoya-Galvez suggested:
"When you voted for the President, he was promising mass deportations, a crackdown on illegal immigration. Some people may say this is what mass deportations look like."
Gannon asserted:
"Not law-abiding people, you know, let's go after the criminals. They're not. They're not going after the hard guys. That's too difficult. It's easier to pick them up at the airport. You know, it's like shooting fish in a barrel."
Gannon repeatedly stated:
"They're destroying families."
But tearing families apart was a main component of Trump's immigration policy during his first term in office. There was no indication he intended to stop during his second.
People were sympathetic to Suarez Reyes' situation, but had little empathy for the fiancé whose vote sealed her fate.

Gannon told CBS he and Suarez Reyes were booked on a domestic flight from Houston to Las Vegas for a furniture industry convention. Gannon owns more than 1,000 billboards in the United States as well as several businesses in Mexico, including a hotel and a restaurant.
The couple were just leaving the United Airlines lounge when, according to Gannon, "eight officers, ICE agents swarmed Yasmin and detained her, didn't tell us why and wrestled her off into a car." Suarez Reyes' remains in ICE custody pending deportation proceedings.
Asked what he'd say directly to Trump, Gannon replied:
"Go after the criminals. We're all for that. But leave the mom and pops and the kids alone. Man, he's destroying families."

In a video that she posted on TikTok, she appeared in a comfortable outfit of leopard-print overalls, a bright red-orange tank top, and a ponytail, ready to prepare for the year. Instead, she told her audience that there was a health-hazard-level "plot twist."
She took an exasperated breath and said:
"Happy day one of classroom setup, except my entire room is covered with mold, and everything is ruined."
According to the elementary school teacher, the A/C had been turned off in the school for at least part of the summer, and thanks to moisture that commonly gets trapped in school buildings, paired with record-high temperatures this year, the teacher's entire classroom setup was covered in mold.
From all of the posters and artwork hung on her classroom walls, to the bin that she kept extra tissues and other hygiene items in, to the book collection she kept for her students, to the doors and inside paneling of all of her cabinets and drawer systems, to the entirety of her desk chair, everything needed to be thrown away.
After giving a tour of the classroom, the teacher turned the camera back to herself, visibly emotional.
"This is the reason that nobody gets into education."
"We're the ones who have to fund our classroom in the first place, but since there was no A/C all summer, everything that I poured my money into is ruined."
"I love my job with my whole heart, but we do not get paid enough for this."
"It's ridiculous, for a room that I kept clean all year, only to come back to it and see it destroyed."
The teacher has since taken down the TikTok video and has either deleted or hidden her account.
To make matters worse, the teacher was also allegedly fired for making the video and likely revealing a larger health concern of the entire school.
TikToker @tgjn988 also posted a copy of the video, along with her commentary, and a fellow TikToker chimed in in the comments, claiming that their cousin was one of the teacher's students and that she had, in fact, been fired for the video.

The video was reposted on TikTok by other accounts, as well as on X by X user @cecegkh.

"Teacher posts video of mold destroying everything she paid for in her classroom… and gets fired for it."
"She was not complaining about the school’s budget. She was showing the damage to items she paid for with her own money so kids would have a decent classroom."
"This is the system. Teachers spend their own paychecks to make rooms livable, then face consequences for documenting when the building itself is unsafe."
" Parents deserve to know what their kids are walking into. Teachers should not lose their jobs for saying it."

Viewers were furious on the teacher's behalf, whether or not the rumors were true that she was fired.
Anyone who has worked in education will not be surprised to find out that the teacher was reprimanded for posting the video. Allegedly being fired might be an extreme example, but teachers have been silenced and punished in more subtle ways for speaking out or for running their classroom differently than their fellow teachers.
There's probably a safety concern in that school right now, because it's unlikely that one teacher's classroom would have this much mold without it impacting other classrooms.
Hopefully they'll be honest with the teachers and parents so that they can make informed decisions regarding their students' health, safety, and educational needs.
