Chris Christie Bluntly Factchecks Piers Morgan Over Suggestion That Trump Kept Dictators 'In Their Boxes'

After Piers Morgan wondered if there was 'method' to Trump's 'madness' when it came to dealing with Putin and Kim Jong Un, Chris Christie set him straight.

Former Republican New Jersey Governor Chris Christie gave Piers Morgan a major reality check about former Republican President Donald Trump's actions on foreign policy during his time in the White House.

While he was President, Trump perpetually touted himself as having close ties with the likes of North Korean Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un and Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Morgan appeared on Fox News Tonight and depicted Trump as some kind of flawless foreign policy leader and mentioned how the U.S. never went to war during his administration–suggesting he didn't ruffle feathers with global dictatorship.

He told Christie:

"None of these dictators pull any of these stunts while Trump was president."

Morgan then asked him:

“Was there a bit of method to Trump’s madness in the way he dealt with these people in that people thought he was crazy but actually maybe the unpredictability of Trump kept people like Putin and Kim Jong Un in their boxes?"

But Christie–who is running his second Republican presidential campaign against Trump in 2024–set the record straight and replied:

“I don’t think by calling Kim Jong Un a great guy he stopped him from continuing to develop missile technology that now allows those missiles to reach the United States."
“That happened on Donald Trump’s watch.”

Christie went on to inform Morgan that Putin continued to build up his military and build forces at the border for the inevitable Ukraine invasion.

“He doesn’t answer for that, either,” said Christie, adding:

“And he doesn’t answer for holding back military aid from Ukraine to try to get dirt on Joe Biden.”

Twitter users agreed.

People continued to weigh in with their mixed feelings on Christie as a possible presidential candidate.

After ending his 2016 Republican presidential candidacy, Christie endorsed Trump and was later named head of Trump's transition planning team.

Christie was a staunch supporter and ally while Trump was in office, but the former New Jersey Governor became a harsh critic of Trump after he repeatedly spread false claims of a rigged election and incited the January 6, 2021 U.S. Capitol insurrection.

On June 6, 2023, Christie announced his candidacy for the 2024 GOP nomination.

People Share The Best Ways To Shut Down A Debate With A Flat Earther Family Member

The Flat Earth conspiracy theory is strictly a modern online movement, rumored to have begun as a prank, that gained momentum among people who mistrust authority through the power of social media.

There is a persistent myth that Europeans in the Middle Ages believed the Earth was flat. But that is a 19th-century fabrication to sell Columbus Day, not historical reality.

On Friday afternoon, Trump posted:

Nancy Mace Ripped After Throwing Massive Tantrum Over Lack Of Police Protection At Airport

South Carolina Republican Representative Nancy Mace is facing heated criticism after she threw a tantrum and accused airport police in Charleston, South Carolina, of not showing up to protect her ahead of an early morning flight after she allegedly arrived late and at the wrong gate.

Airport police had arranged for Mace, who is also a Republican candidate in the South Carolina governor’s race, to be escorted to her flight upon arrival. However, a mix-up over which vehicle she was traveling in led to confusion, according to an incident report. Officers later found Mace attempting to enter through a doorway typically reserved for flight crew at a TSA security checkpoint.
