GOP Rep. Blasted After Blaming Biden For Anderson Cooper Doing Shots On New Year's Eve

Republican Rep. Kat Cammack used Cooper's drinking on CNN's New Year's Eve special to demonstrate how 'nothing is better under Joe Biden's America.'

Florida Republican Representative Kat Cammack was widely criticized after she claimed that President Joe Biden is to blame for CNN host Anderson Cooper's on-air tequila shots during the network's New Year's Eve coverage. In a Fox Business appearance, Cammack took aim at Cooper’s festive drinking, attributing it to what she called the failure of policies under Biden's presidency.

During her appearance on Fox Business Network's Mornings with Maria, Cammack criticized various facets of Biden's administration, attributing multiple societal issues to the President's policies. She particularly highlighted Cooper's on-air drinking as a sign of both CNN's ratings and the state of America under Biden's leadership.

She said:

“Nothing is better under Joe Biden’s America. Heck, even Anderson Cooper is doing shots on live television. And I think that speaks to both CNN’s ratings as well as what’s going on in America today.”

You can hear what she said in the video below.

Cooper and Cohen’s New Year’s Eve drinking tradition had been briefly halted under a prior CNN chief but was revived for this year’s broadcast. Despite Cammack’s attempt to link Cooper's celebratory drinking to Biden’s policies, the tradition predated Biden's presidency.

Cohen openly rebelled against the ban on alcohol during the NYE broadcast, bringing back the tradition with gusto. Throughout the night, both hosts engaged in a lighthearted celebration, taking shots on-air to mark the occasion, much to the amusement of viewers.

Cammack's remarks swiftly exposed her to criticism.

Cammack is the latest conservative to complain about the broadcast.

Earlier, conservatives lashed out at CNN after the network showed two men kissing shortly after the ball dropped in Times Square in New York City during their live coverage of New Year's Eve.

When the clock struck midnight, the vibrant crowd celebrated the significant moment by exchanging kisses with their loved ones. Cameras captured the scene, and notably, the first kiss of 2024 broadcast on CNN, ABC News, and CBS happened to be shared by two men.

Almost immediately, the homophobes came out of the woodwork to condemn the romantic moment though it was praised by liberals who said many LGBTQ+ teens watching at home felt seen and heard during a pivotal moment on such a high-profile broadcast.

Trump was addressing growing concerns about tanker traffic through the Strait of Hormuz, a narrow passage at the entrance to the Persian Gulf that carries roughly 20% of the world’s oil supply. While the strait falls under international maritime law, Iran maintains substantial influence over the corridor.

The shadow gospel refers to versions of Christianity and conservatism conjured through anti-liberal messages with little to no basis in actual scripture.

Trump traded on the beliefs of Christian nationalist factions among his MAGA minions by calling the Democratic Party "demonic."
