LSU Star Breaks Down In Tears After Revealing She Gets Death Threats: 'I've Been Through So Much'

Star basketball player Angel Reese spoke out at a post-game press conference about the torrent of abuse she's faced since winning the NCAA title last year, tearfully reminding fans she's 'still a human being.'

Angel Reese may be a beast on the court, but during a recent post-game press conference, the LSU star reminded everyone that she's "still a human being."

The Tigers' star forward opened up about her experiences since winning the NCAA championship last year when LSU defeated Iowa 102–85.

This year, of course, was a different story as the Tigers fell to Iowa 94-87 in the Elite Eight round of the NCAA tournament.

Following the loss, Reese, alongside teammates Flau’jae Johnson and Hailey Van Lith and coach Kim Mulkey, became emotional as she discussed the attention and online attacks she's endured over the course of the last year.

“I don’t really get to stand up for myself. I mean, I have great teammates, I have a great support system, I got my hometown, I got my family that stands up for me."
“I don’t really get to speak out on things just because I just try to ignore. I just try to stand strong.”

She continued, tearfully listing examples of abuse she's encountered.

“I’ve been through so much, I’ve seen so much."
"I’ve been attacked so many times."
“Death threats, I’ve been sexualized, I’ve been threatened—so many things, and I’ve stood strong every single time.”

Reese added that she "wouldn't change anything" and is still "unapologetically me," however:

“I’m still a human."
“All this has happened since I won a national championship, and I said the other day, I haven’t had peace since then.”

Last year, Reese faced heavy criticism for her gametime trash talk and other on-court displays.

Keith Olbermann even called her a "f**king idiot" on X, formerly Twitter.

And Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy called her a “classless piece of sh*t.”

But, as many pointed out, Iowa's Caitlin Clark was displaying the same level of competitiveness without receiving any of the backlash.

And we all know why.

Needless to say, viewers of Reese's post-game interview defended her and called out the online cowards harassing her.

And others commented on the double standard in women's basketball.

During the press conference, Reese's teammates also chimed in on her experience.

Johnson shared:

“Everybody can have their opinion on Angel Reese, but y’all don’t know her. Y’all don’t know Angel Reese."
“The crown she wears is heavy, bro.”

And Van Lith added:

“People speak hate into her life.”

But in happier breaking news, Reese just officially declared for the 2024 WNBA Draft.

Congratulations and best wishes for even more success!

We've all heard the saying, "When you know, you know."

Sometimes a relationship doesn't go the "normal" or "acceptable" way, like not meeting in conventional ways or not being together "long enough" before marrying, but when a couple knows they're in love, they know.

Dads have a lot to learn when it comes to raising their kids, and in some case, single dads don't always have the same sounding board for their choices as married couples and co-parents.

This isn't talked about enough, but dads with daughters have the added pressure of learning how to take care of girls, from dressing them to taking care of their hair, which can be a very different experience from raising boys. If they weren't raised with sisters or female cousins, they could be at a total loss for how to approach this.
