Trump Slammed After Repeatedly Saying He's Never 'Even Heard Of A Category 5' Hurricane

President Donald Trump needs to learn more about hurricanes.

Last year, he described Hurricane Florence as "one of the wettest we've ever seen from the standpoint of water," and news broke recently that he floated the idea of nuking hurricanes before they can reach land.

Now, he's just said he's never heard of a category 5 hurricane, despite four of them hitting the United States since his inauguration in 2017.

The statement came as Trump spoke to the press as Hurricane Dorian, the most recent Category 5 hurricane, approached the United States.

Watch below.

"We don't even know what's coming at us," Trump said.

He continued:

"All we know is it's possibly the biggest. I have -- I'm not sure that I've ever even heard of a Category 5. I knew it existed. And I've seen some Category 4's -- you don't even see them that much, but a Category 5 is something that -- I don't know that I've ever even heard the term other than I know it's there. That's the ultimate, and that's what we have, unfortunately.

Hurricanes Irma, Maria and Michael were all Category 5 hurricanes.

As CNN fact-checker Daniel Dale pointed out, Trump has made this claim before. Multiple times.

People weren't surprised, but that didn't stop them from slamming Trump for his latest gaffe.

A Category 5 hurricane holds winds of over 150 miles per hour, bringing catastrophic wind damage usually resulting in numerous destroyed homes.
