Colin Jost Hilariously Reacts To Wife Scarlett Johansson Becoming World's Highest-Grossing Actor
Jul 16, 2025
Scarlett Johansson has been acting professionally since she was 9 years old, with her film debut in North in 1994. Since then, she's appeared in movies that span practically every genre and garnered two Academy Award nominations.
With such a long and diverse resume, it's not completely surprising that, at age 40, Johansson just became the highest-grossing actor at the worldwide box office ever, with $14.9 billion of box office revenue for her 68 films.
So how did her husband, Saturday Night Live's Colin Jost, react to the news?
Entertainment Tonight asked Jost—who has five films on his IMDb profile—for his thoughts on his wife's success.
You can watch the moment here:
@entertainmenttonight Scarlett Johansson is the highest-grossing actor at the box office... so that must also make Colin Jost part of the highest-grossing couple? Actor math! #scarlettjohansson #colinjost #jurassicworldrebirth
ET host Kevin Frazier asked Jost:
"How cool is it that Scarlett is now the number one actress in the world, as far as box office?"
Jost—tongue firmly in cheek—responded:
"When you think about it, combined, me and her are probably one of the top couples at the box office ever. You know what I mean?"
"And she’s probably doing a little bit more of that lifting, but combined? You know what I mean? That could be a huge record, too."
Frazier replied:
"Your box office right now. Let's––don't make me pull up Box Office Mojo. I will pull it up."
Box Office Mojo is a website owned by the Internet Movie Database (IMDb) that tracks and analyzes box office revenue for movies.
SNL "Weekend Update" co-anchor Jost responded:
"I've been in several number one movies."
He hasn’t.
"I basically only do number one movies."
He doesn't.
He then listed three of his five definitely not-number-one-at-the-box-office films.
"'Tom & Jerry.' Perhaps you saw 'Coming 2 America.' 'How to Be Single.' I think those may have all been number one movies. Yet––"
Jost then cracked, and stepped away from the camera as he started laughing at the absurdity of comparing his film career to his wife's, with 63 fewer films to his name. The two films he didn’t mention were Staten Island Summer and Fly Me to the Moon. Jost was a writer on the former and the latter starred Johansson.
When he had composed himself, Jost told Frazier:
"I don’t think the internet has information like that."
Frazier replied:
"Oh, the internet does. Don't worry. You'll see it across the screen on 'Entertainment Tonight'."
True to his word, "Colin's Box Office: $249 Million" and "Scarlett's Box Office: $14.8 Billion" appeared on the screen.
Jost laughed and said:
"Updated box office."
Other sources cite $14.9 billion, but the box office for Johansson's latest film, Jurassic World: Rebirth, is changing that number almost daily.
Ironically, a star of the first Jurassic Park film is who Johansson knocked out of the top actor spot. Her Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) costar Samuel L. Jackson now occupies second place at $14.6 billion. Another MCU costar, Robert Downey Jr., holds the number 3 spot with $14.3 billion at the box office.
Not everyone got Jost's deadpan delivery, thinking he was serious.

Jost was a writer on Saturday Night Live when he first met Johansson when the actor hosted the show for the first time on January 14, 2006. She now holds the record for most times hosting by a woman, at seven.
The pair didn't become an item until 2017 when Johansson hosted the show for the fifth time
By that time, Jost had come out from behind the camera to co-anchor "Weekend Update" with Michael Che—a role the two have had since 2014.
Jost and Johansson married in 2020 and welcomed their son Cosmo in 2021.

Stevie Wonder Epically Shuts Down Rumor That He's Not Really Blind In Powerful Viral Clip
Jul 16, 2025
Legendary musician Stevie Wonder spoke out during a stop on his Love, Light & Song mini-tour to address rumors that he is not really blind, telling those in attendance that his blindness—which has been the case since shortly after birth—has also been a "blessing."
The long-standing rumor that Stevie Wonder can actually see has circulated for decades and even been echoed by fellow celebrities including singer Lionel Richie, who said in a 2019 interview that he's "been spending my whole life with him [Wonder] thinking he can see."
Wonder has periodically made jokes about this at his own expense, but decided to address the matter more directly in a message to fans during a July 9 concert.
Wonder said:
"I must say to all of you something I was thinking, and I wanted to let the world know this. I want to say it right now. You know, there have been rumors about me seeing, and all of that."
"But, seriously, you know the truth. The truth is, shortly after my birth, I became blind. Now that was a blessing because it's allowed me to see the world in the vision of truth, of sight — see people in the spirit of them, not how they look, or what color they are."
"But, what color is their spirit?"
You can hear what he said in the video below.
Many appreciated his response.
Indeed, Wonder was born six weeks premature, and the combination of his early birth and the oxygen-rich environment of the hospital incubator led to retinopathy of prematurity—a condition that halts eye development and often causes retinal detachment—leaving him blind.
His blindness has never stopped him from succeeding. Long considered one of the most influential musicians of the 20th century, he has 25 Grammy Awards, an Academy Award, and a host of other honors to his name, so he's getting the last laugh, rumors or no rumors.

Dr. Oz Slammed For Tone Deaf Health Advice For Americans On Medicaid And Medicare
Jul 16, 2025
Dr. Mehmet Oz—now the administrator for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services—was criticized after he offered Americans unsolicited health advice during a Fox News appearance, saying that Americans shouldn't "eat carrot cake" as millions face cuts to their government-funded health insurance.
The passage of President Donald Trump's "One Big Beautiful Bill" will cause 17 million people to lose valuable Medicare and Medicaid coverage. Under the bill, individuals earning just above the federal poverty line would be required to start paying out of pocket for certain Medicaid services, such as doctor visits and lab tests.
States would be allowed to charge these enrollees up to 5% of their income in cost-sharing, potentially adding up to hundreds of dollars each year. Experts warn that while Democratic-led states may opt for relatively low co-pays, Republican-led states could impose higher fees that many low-income residents would be unable to afford.
But Oz didn't address any of these concerns, only saying the following during Fox's commemoration of the 60th anniversary of Medicare:
"It was a promise to the American people to take care of you if you're having problems financially or if you're having an issue because you're older and need healthcare and it changed the country in a good way for many reasons, but we're all in this together."
"We'll be there for you when you need help with Medicare and Medicaid, but you've got to stay healthy as well. Be vital. Do the most that you can do to really live up to the potential, the God given potential, to live a full and healthy life."
"You know, don't eat carrot cake. Eat real food."
Oz, who also referred to Medicare and Medicaid as "the backbone of the social safety net of our country" while parroting claims of "waste, fraud, and abuse" in the system without presenting evidence, said these words as a carrot cake sat on the table in front of him and host Steve Varney.
You can hear what he said in the video below.
Oz's words attracted the attention of Massachusetts Democratic Senator Elizabeth Warren, a tireless advocate for healthcare access, who said:
"17 million people are going to lose their health insurance because of the Trump administration. Dr. Oz's advice is “don’t eat carrot cake.”"
You can see her post below.
Others swiftly criticized Oz for his clueless remark.
Last month, speaking on the heels of major U.S. health insurers' pledge to speed up the prior authorization process, Oz was criticized for his explanation how the companies’ compliance can be monitored, stressing that the Trump administration "insisted on a dashboard."
Oz said the process would operate "like a credit card," and that "when you put it into the machine to buy something, they don’t prior authorize you" because "you either have money in the bank or you don’t.”
Critics pointed out that Oz's statement shows just how much he doesn't understand the job he currently holds—which sounds pretty par for the course for the rest of the Trump administration.

Adam Schiff Calls Out The Real Reason Trump Is Accusing Him Of 'Fraud'—And Yeah, That Tracks
Jul 16, 2025
California Democratic Senator Adam Schiff fired back at President Donald Trump after Trump accused Schiff of "possible mortgage fraud" in a Truth Social post—prompting Schiff to point out that Trump's attack is another attempt to take attention away from Trump's association with the late financier, pedophile, and sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein.
Trump, without citing evidence, said Fannie Mae’s financial crimes division found that Schiff had a “sustained pattern of possible Mortgage Fraud" that involved misstating which home Schiff used as a primary residence, allowing him to secure a cheaper mortgage.
He wrote:
"I have always suspected Shifty Adam Shiff [sic] was a scam artist. And now I learn that Fannie Mae's Financial Crimes Division have concluded that Adam Schiff has engaged in a sustained pattern of possible Mortgage Fraud."
"Adam Schiff said that his primary residence was in MARYLAND to get a cheaper mortgage and rip off America, when he must LIVE in CALIFORNIA because he was a Congressman from CALIFORNIA. Mortgage Fraud is very serious, and CROOKED Adam Schiff (now a Senator) needs to be brought to justice."
You can see Trump's post below.
@realDonaldTrump/Truth Social
Designating a home as a primary residence, rather than a secondary home or investment property, can result in lower interest rates, as lenders view primary residences as less risky.
However, a spokesperson for Schiff’s office said the lenders for his homes in both California and Washington were “well aware” of his intended year-round use of both properties while serving in public office, adding that neither residence was considered a vacation home.
Public records tied to Schiff’s mortgage and property in Montgomery County, Maryland, show that in October 2020, he signed a document identifying the home as a second residence. In earlier filings, the same property had been listed as a primary residence.
However, experts cautioned that the documents alone don’t provide the full picture, pointing to the absence of information about any specific agreements Schiff may have had with his lender. They also noted that differing definitions of “primary residence” — between the county and mortgage providers — can create ambiguity and make it difficult to determine whether any rules were actually broken.
It's also worth noting that Schiff led impeachment proceedings against Trump while still a member of the House and Trump has often targeted Schiff for retribution.
And in recent days, Trump has been accused of refusing to release the infamous "Epstein files," which are said to contain detailed lists of some of Epstein's most high-profile enablers.
Trump, who is widely believed to be in the Epstein files, deflected calls by his MAGA base to release them, admonishing critics of his Attorney General Pam Bondi, who in her capacity leading the Department of Justice (DOJ) concluded no such list exists, despite claiming the exact opposite just months ago.
Schiff said that Trump's attack against him was just another distraction designed to take people's attention away from Epstein's case—not to mention Trump's own involvement:
"Since I led his first impeachment, Trump has repeatedly called for me to be arrested for treason. So in a way, I guess this is a bit of a letdown. And this baseless attempt at political retribution won’t stop me from holding him accountable. Not by a long shot."
"This is just Donald Trump’s latest attempt at political retaliation against his perceived enemies. So it is not a surprise, only how weak this false allegation turns out to be. And much as Trump may hope, this smear will not distract from his Epstein files problem."
You can see his post below.
Many agreed.
Call it for what it is - a distraction from the *pstein files. Keep that narrative and expect a lot more of this as the public keeps demanding their release. He’s trying to control the media narrative, nothing else. Do NOT let him.
— Doug Anderson (@bayoka.bsky.social) July 15, 2025 at 11:33 AM
You forgot to mention, “and he’s also trying to distract from his connection to Epstein and underage girls”
— JohnnyNaugahyde (@jbvta.bsky.social) July 15, 2025 at 11:42 AM
Says the convicted felon who defrauded charities, lied on bank applications (fraud) and tax returns (more fraud), and won't release the Epstein list.
— Wolves at the Wall (@wolvesatthewall.bsky.social) July 15, 2025 at 11:39 AM
Keep demanding the release of the Epstein files. Most Americans believe he is in it!
— sanityrules.bsky.social (@sanityrules.bsky.social) July 15, 2025 at 11:14 AM
Responses to that guy should start with 'The Epstein pedophile in office has said', or 'The adjudicated rapist in office has said', or 'The convicted felon in office says'.Make them quote their guilt if they're going to talk about you.

It's always interesting to re-read his statements knowing he's projecting his own behavior on to someone else.
— debbiefr.bsky.social (@debbiefr.bsky.social) July 15, 2025 at 11:49 AM
Anytime you respond to things, call him the rapist in chief and keep referring to Epstein.
— Dave (@chaostosurreal.bsky.social) July 15, 2025 at 1:23 PM
Frankly, this is more about Epstein than you. He is scraping around for a distraction
— mbdp.bsky.social (@mbdp.bsky.social) July 15, 2025 at 12:12 PM
Trump was similarly accused of attempting to distract from the Epstein files when he threatened to strip actor and comedian Rosie O'Donnell of her U.S. citizenship, labeling her a "Threat to Humanity" in a similarly angry post on Truth Social.
The relationship between O'Donnell and Trump, who have feuded for years, was so antagonistic that O'Donnell, fearing the worst once Trump won the election, moved to Ireland shortly before Trump’s inauguration. She has cited the risks Project 2025 and Trump's potential retribution pose to her and her nonbinary child.
O'Donnell later responded to Trump's attack by sharing one of the many photos that exist of Trump and Epstein, calling him "everything that is wrong with America," noting that he hates her for being "a loud woman, a queer woman, a mother who tells the truth, an american who got out of the country [before you] set it ablaze."
Trump has since directed Bondi to release whatever she finds "credible" in the Epstein files amid the backlash from his supporters.
